I can't tell if there is, but it seems like there is either no bullet drop at all or very little for the semi auto sniper rifles. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Is there any bullet drop for the semi automatic sniper rifles?
" How many threads in the BC2 forum do we honestly need for "is there bullet drop on..."? This isn't MW2. "This is the second one? I could create one for every weapon if you want.

" what does that mean exactly..? like the shell dropping or what? "The bullet dropping over distance due to gravity.
As far as I know, all sniper rifles has bullet drop mechanics implemented, but that's it, no other weapons. Tracer dart shoots dead accurate, other weapons have some bullet spread, but no drop at all - you can shoot a sniper on the hill by basically any weapon on any distance, if you aim straight at him and shoot one bullet at a time." @ThePhantomnaut said:

So to answer to the OP, yes, there is bullet drop on semi automatic sniper rifles.
Yeah tracer darts don't count because you can almost outrun the fucking things on foot. Good luck shooting an Apache sailing by at 100+ MPH and 400 feet up in the sky with one of those fucking things
@W0lfbl1tzers: Who said they were awesome? I find it interesting that he mentions canine sack and you immediately think they're "the shit". Then again I guess that says something about me equating awesomeness to poop.
What the fuck is up with modern slang?
And why is "what the fuck" usually negative while "the shit" is awesome?

Then how can I hit snipers in the head with a LMG from across the map by putting the irons on his head? If there was bullet drop, I'd have to aim higher, like with a sniper rifle. Or guys with shotguns sniping me from 50+ yards away?" @Quipido said:

Tank shells, RPGs (and the like), and sniper rifles have bullet drop. I don't think anything else does. Maybe they do on PC? I'm only playing 360. I know until recently the gun damage was lower on PC.
" sniper rifles have bullet drop. other guns dont. you can hit a guy 200 m away with a pistol without adjusting your aim, but damage will be much lower than a 20m shot. sniper rifles gain advantage in range they dont lose all their power in long distances. "Uhh, no, all guns have bullet drop.
No, they dont. With red dot sight you can shoot snipers easily over LONG distances with no drop whatsoever. Tank shells do have a drop, snipers do, rockets do. That's it." @mikbal said:

Yes. They . Do.
I virtually never use sniper rifles and I notice drop all the time. It's much less noticeable with other guns than with sniper rifles because of the distance. The longer the shot, the more the bullet will drop before it gets to its destination. Also different guns have different bullet velocity, resulting in varying flatness to the trajectories.
Quoting denkirson.xanga.com here:
"On the "physics" of Bullet Drop, there are several types of bullets:
- Bullet. The standard for all weapons from pistols to the weaker Recon Rifles. They are not affected by gravity at all. You can fire straight at an enemy at any distance.
- Sniper_Bullet. A bullet affected by fake gravity. Used by the M24, SV-98, GOL, and Slug Shotguns
- HMG_bullet. Used by stationary and vehicle mounted machineguns. That AND the M95 sniper rifle.
All bullets travel at the same arbitrary speed of "600" (though their tracers are made intentionally slower than the actual projectile)."
Silly gooses.
Den Kirson to the rescue!

The feature of HMG_Bullet is that it can damage lightly armored vehicles such as Jeeps and Helicopters.'
This is taken directly from the game files. It is fact, not speculation. Source.
Maybe we need someone to post a youtube video of shooting from the hilltop on port valdez to the back building or something. One shot of a sniper making the shot and another shot of a LMG or Assault rifle with 4x scope. Anyone with a capture setup feel like making a private match and setting this up?

Then STALKER has a more realistic ballistics model after all. Nice inconsistency DICE. Out modeled by a 9 year old game.
Also, bro, what I said said were not opinions, they were incorrect facts. Saying something is green when it isn't doesn't make that an opinion. Opinions can't be proven, unlike the argument in this thread.
