I want to pre-order for the Xbox 360 (and probably will,) but I'm worried about the graphics. In the PS3 BETA, the graphics were AWESOME! I'm just scared that my 360 won't be able to handle the graphics. What do you think?
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Game » consists of 26 releases. Released Mar 02, 2010
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the second installment in this spin-off Battlefield series. It has a more serious campaign and a vastly expanded multiplayer system.
Will the Xbox 360's graphics be as good as the PS3's?
They will probably make a specific graphics version for the 360. It will handle it. Or maybe I'm wrong, idk.
Wow, this is a change. Im usually worried about the PS3 version not looking as good. Im sure theyll be the same.
Your safer buying the 360 version.
In the end it all comes down to what most of your friends get, if you have any.
Exclusive-wise the graphics usually look a lot better on the PS3, but when it comes to multi-platform releases they usually look pretty much the same. Although I can think of some cases, such as Bioshock (that had a whole different developer working just on the import), I think the graphics look slightly better there, and on Dragon Age: Origins for the 360 the graphics look pretty bad whereas in the PS3 version of the game they look very close to the PC graphics.
So I guess you'll have to wait for those fanboy-made graphics comparison screen shots, if there are none available yet.
Usually the same, only when PC comes into it the the PC always comes out on top (But not in cases like Saints Row 2). Multi platform games usually go PC>360>PS3 because Devs. find it hard to port to the PS3 and therefore the only PS3 games that are better than 360 in most cases is the ones that were initially for the PS3 and ported to 360 such as FF XIII. Therefore it will basically look the same as the PS3.

Just because something came out exclusively to PS3 doesn't mean it can only be done on PS3. I think Jack Tretton brainwashed all PS3 users.
Like we all know, multiplatform games NEVER looked better on PS3. Lately they begin to look the same on both consoles.
So... no need to worry.

Actually, the PS3 Beta build was several months old, when the Beta came out. DICE has improved the graphics vastly since that build. All weaponmodels and attachments have gotten a reskin. They've added matching camo for soldiers and vehicles for all the different terrain. Just read the freaking changelog form the PS3 beta and watch the most recent trailers. All of which run on 360, expcept the PS3 beta ones. The 360 version is 'rock solid', as a producer said." @nixatron said:

Ontop of that, we've only seen multiplayer thus far. DICE will definitly burn off more graphical fireworks in the singleplayer campaign, because there's gonna be more resources free for such stuff. Just look at the new in-game footage of the singleplayer campaign, which were featured on GTtv. Now that's just superbeautiful. Frostbite is a true next gen engine and it shows. That's one good looking and extremely interactive gigantic gameworld with an endless horizon, viewing and drawing distance. That's true for singleplayer and multiplayer - PS3, 360 and PC.
It only gets better and prettier. Can't wait to see Medal of Honor and what the Frostbite engine can do fidelity-wise when it's technically liberated by more restrictive gamedesign as seen in Modern Warfare 2. Sandbox games do sacrifice fidelity for scale. How much remains to be seen - even though it already looks and feels amazing given the scale of a game like BF:BC 2.
Here is a video of the game, it looks superior on the xbox360 which is not suprising for multiplatform games.
Yeah, console versions will look like blurry, choppy, upscaled poop compared to the game running on any half-decent rig.
"Do you see what I see? Yep, two primary weapons! Here is a video of the game, it looks superior on the xbox360 which is not suprising for multiplatform games. However the pc version will be way better than these console versions. I'm thinking you are talking about this game because you put this thread in the battlefield bad company 2 forum. The video is the xbox360 version.

Looking back at previous multiplatform games, I'd say the better question in will the PS3 version look as good as the 360 version. I don't think I know of one example of a game where the PS3 version looked outright better than the 360 version. Some would say Dragon Age, but with DA you traded 360's smooth framerate for PS3's detailed textures or vice versa.
Just wait for the demos for both to come out in a couple weeks.
The PS3 textures will look better due to less compression (blu ray) but probably everything else will be indistinguishable.
One thing the PS3 should excel in is the sound since those are likely also much less compressed. But that's not really graphics.
I will say that I think DICE prefers PS3 due to the way they've handled things in the past. You know, wording, actions, some web graphics. No major fanboyisms, but definitely a slight bias.
Actually I just read that the Demo will be out in February. The rumor was that the console demos were slated for Jan 28th to coincide with the PC beta. Sorry for the confusion. So I'd guess 2 weeks at max." @MrKlorox said:

360 and PS3 demo will go live the 4th of February, respectively the 5th for PS3 (depending on the weekly updates to XBLA and PSN). It will be a multiplayer only demo. Most likely, we will be playing 'Port Valdez' on Rush mode. Karl-Magnus Troedsson (Senior Producer) said that they'll reveal details this week.
Looking forward to it!
" Why do PC gamers always invade threads like this? The OP didn't even mention the PC... "
No offence but i find you in every PC dying thread.
So,i thought you play games on your PC too.

It's not just the graphics that are better its the framerate too

" It'll probably look almost identical on each console. If it does come down to a few differences, the textures will be better on the PS3, but the framerate will suffer. "Why would the textures be better? A lot of other multiplatform games seemed to have lower resolution textures on the PS3 version. You can correct me if I am wrong.

The blu-ray medium with it's massive capacity would allow for near-lossless compressed textures whereas the low capacity of dvd would require the same textures to be more lossy compressed. Resolution is only one factor to how good a texture looks." @cstrang said:

This is also presumably why the download PC version is a whole 5gb larger than the disc PC version (50%).

I think they said that the ps3/x360 versions won't have any AA, and honestly the ps3 beta was pretty nice looking so there should be nothing to worry about. PC gamers probably have to worry the most, since this is the first Frostbite PC release.
