Very awesome deal if you never played the first one. And a smart one as well. And hopefully with them working on this one system, they can optimize it so that both games run smoothly (unlike the PS3 version).
I like what's coming.
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Sep 20, 2014

Hate to be "that guy" but I have to ask, are you Bayonetta fans not terrified about how poorly it's (potentially) going to sell? Can you get the math to work?
Sincerly,
Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise Fan
@professoress: Well, Bayonetta 2 couldn't happen without Nintendo since nobody wanted to fund it... except Nintendo. So there was already no future for the franchise. Even if it sells extremely badly, it will still have come out.

It's a Platinum game so it goes one of two ways:
1) (Game) is awesome and it sells poorly.
or
2) (Game) gets mixed reception and sells poorly.
@professoress: After the first one I wasn't expecting a follow up so everything after that is just a bonus as far as I'm concerned.
@professoress: I think most Bayonetta fans are just happy that they're getting a second game.
Getting the first game bundled in is a great deal.
@professoress: I loved absolutely everything about the first Bayonetta, but I doubt anyone's really expecting a third Bayonetta game. I think we're lucky to be getting a second and we should probably just be happy with that. Anyway, from the trailer they showed today, it doesn't look anywhere near as crazy as the first game so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Like everyone else has said, I'm not terrified. I'm excited I'm getting a sequel to something I loved and sooner rather than later. If sales aren't great, it's expected. If they're better than expected, just an added bonus. I mean it could be worse and we get nothing (like Beyond Good and Evil).
Happy to see some well-tempered expectations. I got so many responses so fast I was sure I was being flamed :P
I'm not the franchise's biggest fan but I own it and enjoyed what I played, just not enough to pull me away from my preferred fare for long enough. It just reminds me of a lot of franchises I've loved that had very slim chances.
Hopefully this deal helps.
I put a ridiculous amount of time into the original, got all the achievements, costumes, weapons etc. so I hope they add some new stuff otherwise I just hope it runs better because at times the game could get choppy even on 360 which is so far the best version.
Kind of pissed the game's coming out in October though, What happend to Q2?! Oh well, at least it isnt next year.
Interesting wording on Nintendo's e3 site. "Bayonetta comes packed in with the purchase of every retail packaged version of Bayonetta 2." If I'm reading that correctly, that means that only physical copies of Bayonetta 2 have the original as well, so people who download are out of luck. But that's just my guess as to what "retail packaged" means.

Eh, nothing wrong with a little extra polish so they can make sure that it runs smooth throughout
Plus, I'm sure that adding Bayo 1 took sometime to port that over, which is great for players who haven't played it yet.
I'm glad they're adding it because I've always thought it was weird when another console gets the sequel to something without ever having the first. Like Mass Effect 2 going to PS3 when 1 wasn't on there and they expected this 10 minute comic strip to be able to tell you everything you need to know. I'm sure it did a fine job though
I hope the costume stuff assuming it's only for the first game will work in the second game because I doubt I'll spend that much time with the first game seeing as I've completed it a bunch of times on both consoles. It's a cool addition I doubt I have much use for.
Sold. I have an import copy of the PS3 version (EVERYTHING is in English, believe it or not) but I'd rather play it on Wii U, assuming it runs like the 360 version.
Neat. I've only ever played through the original Bayonetta once, because I almost never touch my 360, so this's cool.
as big a fan and as bad as i would love to have another experience with bayonetta, i will never buy that wii-poo.
NEVER.
@billymagnum: How very childish of you to use such words.
Getting the first game included is a great bonus. This should be a lot of fun!
Finally, anyone who likes Platinum games but somehow didn't play Bayonetta can now play it when they get its sequel!
(this is actually pretty cool news. Bayonetta is a good game)
@billymagnum: How very childish of you to use such words.
oooo let's make this personal for no reason. cause thats not like...childish or anything...
Am I the only person that saw the Bayonetta 2 footage and went 'huh... that looks incredibly toned down' I mean the fantastic combat aside the reason I loved the first Bayonetta so much was how over the top and campy it was but this one seemed to be really straight faced and not nearly as silly... at least in the Nintendo trailer.
@billymagnum: Well c'mon man "wii-poo" is not exactly the most mature thing to say.
I was thinking about borrowing my Dad's copy of the original (I never got around to get it, and he seemed to not enjoy it - stopping part way though - so he'd likely give it to me) but now I might just pick both up. Also, I'm not averse to having a little fun with Nintendo costume cameos.

word.
Also, well, at least I have another reason to buy the wiiU...
Sounds good to me. I never played the original. I've considered buying the PS3 version, but it's said to be inferior to the Xbox 360 version. So I'll play it on Wii U then.

you people obviously take life waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to seriously. jeez when did the GB community go stiff???
I'm psyched to play Bayonetta 1 at a (hopefully) 100% locked 60 FPS. Even the 360 version of the game got pretty jittery during bigger fights. JP confirmed Platinum's doing the port, so it should be high quality. I'd prefer a PC version where I KNOW I'd have locked a framerate but this is pretty great news.
This made me really happy. As many faults that the first game had, at least now I can have all the games in that series on one platform. This appeases my OCD.

There's "not being stiff" and there's "not acting like an immature child." Throwing dismissive remarks out and calling the console the "Wii-poo" is as dumb as (but admittedly less offensive than) names like "Gaystation". There's no place for that Systems Wars-level nonsense here.
@hailinel: but gay is offensive to people and poo is offensive to poo.

As someone who grew up in the magazine era of games coverage, I still have a very hard time giving a fuck about sales numbers.

thanks for that. i will now live my life how you see fit.
INTERNET IS SERIOUS BUSINESS.
some people will see my comments as immature.
some people will see your doll collection as immature.
why waste time judging people?

I only care about them in the sense that sequels are often made or not made based on them :)
Nintendo's official website now states that the game will have a Japanese Audio track as well. Pretty awesome.
