So Bioshock 1 wasnt bad. A Solid shooter with some scary bits to it. Also had one of the worst endings of a video game to date. But you didn't come here to talk about Bioshock 1 and if you did well yur in the wrong review.

Bioshock starts off with the sad tale of you. You play as a big daddy. they were introduced in Bioshock 1. you know its that guy with the old scuba suit on with the big drill for a right hand (awesome right?) This in itself has infinite possibilities but most seem to be ignored. The drill is by far the coolest weapon in the game (and any shooter for that matter). So you sneak up behind a guy ready to use your nifty little weapon. The splicer turns around only to get a face drilled. (See what I did there?) Its gory, it's loud, and most of all its gratifying. Let’s turn our attention to the rest of the weapons which have exactly the opposite effect. You pick up your rivet gun or mini gun and unload into an enemy. Then half expect them to laugh as you tickle them to death. There’s a very distinct lack of power behind these weapons it seems. Taking away alot of the grandeur of being a big daddy.  while we are on the subject lets talk about cut scenes and game play. Cut scenes are awesome. They show you what your character is capable of (Such as the opening scene where you stomp an enemy splicer into the ground with your big ole foot.) It seems to be it would have been a good use of resources to implement some moves very similar to that type of style allowing you to showoff the fact that your a powerhouse of well power.

Now its off to my next point. )You can tell it's my next point by my use of the return  and or enter key) The story of Bioshock 2 is much better I have to say the various choices you make in the game very subtlety impact the game and are few and far between but it is kind of nice not to have them all in your face about it as well as changing the way you can play the game. (It's not all about harvesting little sisters anymore)  In Bioshock 1 for those of you that played it . Do you remember that heart stopping terror you felt the first time you had to fight a big daddy.  You'll not have that here. Bioshock 2 turns killing big daddies into nothing more than killing rats in Felwithe. (for those of you that know what that means. I think your cool. Teehee)

Something retained from Bioshock 1 that holds true to Bioshock 2 is mini games suck and are out of place here. A dark, gritty, and sometimes scary world has no place to "land the curser in the green bar" It isn’t fun and its almost required since more often than not you will need to hack turrets, camera, droids, vending machienes, health stations you name it you can hack it.

The ending of the game still lacked quite abit but not nearly as much as Bioshock 1. One thing I am a fan off is boss fights. A final stand against and ageless foe and all that stuff which leads right into an epic ending. Making you feel good about your plight. Bioshock 2 does have an ok ending. It does build up overtime but with no final boss I felt the game ended before it was due. ( But at least it didn't have Bioshock’s 1s pathetic Boss fight)

So we got the bad out of the way lets talk about the good. The game takes you from start to finish very easily. The very beginning sequences keep you engaged the entire time. And the game looks and sounds great. 2k does a very good job on creating a suspenseful atmosphere but at the same time adding some lighter tones to the game (like the commercials for plasmids) If your a collector like me you spent allot of time looking for little sisters to carry around and upgrading your weapons and plasmids. Its a good improvement on Bioshock 1. It isn’t leaps and bounds ahead but its an important step to a Bioshock 3 (which I'm sure you’ll see)

      Return to Rapture 0

Bioshock 2 has long been bemoaned as the sequel that was never needed. The original Bioshock captivated gamers with its thrilling narrative and cast of fantastically eccentric characters; dealing with philosophical ideals, moral choices, a society driven to insanity and the complexities of free will in an underwater utopia gone wrong. Rapture was the star of the show; an atmospheric city built deep below the waves. Its 1930s art deco architecture housed by the criminally insane minds of the smar...

      2K Marin Chose The Impossible...And Succeeded 0

A note to begin the review: If you have not yet played the first Bioshock, do yourself an huge favor by completing that before playing this game. It's a great game that's really worth every bit of praise it receives. Short review summary: A more simple and poignant comparison of the atmospheres of both games: in the first game, you timidly held a wrench. In this game, you have a GODDAMN DRILL FOR A HAND. When 2K Games announced its plans to start a franchise based off the success of the fi...
