So any one noticed the changes they did on Elizabeth from older trailers, vids and what they showed on E3?

I personally liked the look of the old one for some reason

The third game in the BioShock series leaves the bottom of the sea behind for an entirely new setting - the floating city of Columbia, circa 1912. Come to retrieve a girl named Elizabeth, ex-detective Booker DeWitt finds more in store for him there than he could ever imagine.
Any one noticed the changes on Elizabeth
It's pretty clear that they decided to go in a lighter direction for the character. She looked sort of like a 20's goth in the old version, which is cool, but the new one looks more innocent. I guess that makes sense with what we know of the character so far (that all she knows is her tower/room, rapunzel thing).
Personally, I like the character model and idea of the second. But the first is a lot more interesting for video games in general.
Another thing is that the second Elizabeth most people would find more... likeable in appearance. Which, if the story revolves around your attachment to her (it most certainly will, and I think we all know where that storyline will surely head), needs to happen sooner rather than later. I think that's why her eyes are so dramatically different. Larger eyes are mostly thought of as more attractive, appealing, and feminine. Seeing as most video game players are male... well it makes sense on a purely penis level that you'd want to keep her around.
One thing I don't like about either is the lack of... proper running attire, if you will. Seems like a blatant sexy grab to me. Hopefully that's just what she is forced to wear and changes later in the story.
I think Irrational has an internal memo somewhere that says "Yo, let's fuck with gamers. Elizabeth needs to change every time we show this game". By the time this game comes out she'll be a bald headed space marine >_>;;;
On a side note, every time there's been a new version I've said "yeah I think I like that one the best." Hopefully this constant iteration doesn't end up fucking it up in the end.
easy to get the too mixed.@Abyssfull said:

Fuck I meant eyes :p
@Hero_Swe said:What would Zapp Brannigan know about breasts anyway... You ARE Zapp Brannigan... right?
Aslong as they don't change the breasts I'm fine. (Also they aren't bigger, just a perspective difference in the two photos)
Ofcourse I am, there's only one other man who could possibly be me...Me, cause I'm me~
I would have preferred the hair be kept the same, but it's a more refined-looking model overall.
I guess they're trying to gauge what would be the most attractive and cute to the largest section of players, in service of the whole "She's really evil" plot twist.
The INEVITABLE "She's really evil" plot twist.
I really like the new one, not only is she adorable, but it feels closer to the actual art style of that era.
The old one most definitely seems to have a more fantasy and cartoonish style, which is fine, but I prefer the new one. Her face looks more sculpted overall.
I bet the twist is you're really evil and you're actually manipulating her. Flip the shit around.I would have preferred the hair be kept the same, but it's a more refined-looking model overall.

I hate the new look. Now she looks like some helpless little girl that we're gonna have to take care of for the whole game (well, until the twist anyway) which actually suits her backstory better, but still... hatred. The old design looked awesome, like she might just flip out and start stabbing shit at any moment.
It took a while to get used to the new look but the big deal for me was that her appearance was a bit more defined before. She came off as more of a girl's doll or an anime character because her eyes were huge. On the contrary, I think they got smaller for the second iteration. Take a look at this pic of her previous look
Anyway, new look isn't so bad, its more human and her haircut is better. May not be as different or memorable as her first look but that outfit makes it hard to forget.
I like how stylized she used to look, especially the haircut. But on the other hand, the new look isn't trying as hard to be alternative, and she still looks very likeable aside from looking pretty.
At this point I'm not worried about petty qualms with iterations of specific assets. I'll just roll with whatever they release. And I trust I'll love it.
