    Bub was first found in Taito's Bubble Bobble arcade game released in 1986.  This dragon and his twin brother Bob traverse the cave of monsters to find their girlfriends using their unique ability of bubble blowing.  These bubbles are used to trap monsters which can then be popped to eliminate the enemy.  The bubbles can also be used as a continually rising platform to navigate the stage.  In Bubble Bobble he apears as a small green dragon and in Rainbow Islands and Parasol Stars as a human form called Bubby.
