When I bought the game, the only versions availaible have this ugly ass limited edition cover. Is that the only one available on the initial run? I would have much prefered the picture of the characters an not the ugly ass picture of nothing

I've never wanted to print off a cover for something before, but I may do it here

is the US the same version as the UK? most times the boxart will be different, the UK got a picture of a boot kicking something.

No, but I buy games based on the content, not the cover. What I want to know is if they actually made covers like the picture that is used on the site, or if the only option is (what appears to be) a full shot of the bottom of some guys boot and nothing else. I thought it may have been an insert that I could throw away after opening it, but apparently not.

Anyway, it's this which is ugly as shit. Could they not have used the other picture and still had Epic/GoW3 stuff on it? Or is this EAs way of preventing a resale since it advertises things that you won't be able to get without an initial purchase

that is the same as the UK boxart, yeah its pretty bad but at least its not half a face or any of the other cliche boxart styles.

Compared to other games, mostly Ubisoft games ending in the letter Z, this boxart isn't all that great but definitely not that bad. Would be nice though if they put in a double sided sheet for the box art that you can just flip over for a different cover. Guess if it bothers you that badly you can always print out the other box art for the game & just slide it in over the image of the giant boot.

This game art is pretty atrocious. I don't even like the regular box art. It feels very designed by committee. "Can we put someone being tethered?"

The box art posted in this thread is for the Epic/Limited Edition of the game. The normal game, from what I am assuming, is still the montage of the three main characters on the front, but the first run pressing of this game is of this specific edition with the Gears Of War 3 beta access codes. I'm sure the next pressing will be the standard cover art. Now, untangle your panties.

That looks like boxart that would be used as the cheap little display case that GameStop loves to put up 20 years before the game comes out. I'm surprised they used it as the final.
