Modern Warfare 2? more like 2xModern Warfare
Modern Warfare 2 is the successor to the famous Modern Warfare game and it makes enough fixes to make it a better game than the first to make Modern Warfare 2 a must buy.
The story plays out like the previous game following certain people either from the US rangers or a special task group called Task Force 141. I won't get too much into the story but the games is like a top notch action hollywood movie and it is done with amazing Infinity ward style. It took the few amazing scens in the first game and multplied them by 100. It was like taking an adrenaline shot every 15 minutes and i loved it. I didn't care that it was not following realism anymore the story was very engaging and fun to follow.
The gameplay is what infinity ward is known for and like all other call of duty games, you have your squad around you and having a bunch of chaos happend around you. The shooting is very well done with controls responding and feeling well. There not much change between the two games.
What does differ between the two games is the mulpltiplayer which is a major reason of the success of the first game. Modern Warfare 2 has made certain improvements to make the multiplayer more solid. What makes the maultiplayer successful is the whole RPG notion of the game which has revolutionized multiplayer gaming ever since. There are also perks which give you advantages in certain aspects of the game and death streaks to give the player help when they are not doing so well. If the player is doing well he gains kill streaks which allows him access to more options such as airplanes and airstrikes. The gameplay is fast paced since killing someone doesn't take many bullets. One of the bigger additions is the possibility of shooting down these killstreaks. Multiplayer is one of the best multiplayer out there. If you want a good multplayer game look no further.
There are also spec ops which missions made for two players. You can either play it with a friend or by yourself but these missions are made to play with another human being. One of the best levels is when one of the players is in a AC-130 while the other player is on the ground. A very good addition to the game.
The graphics is good with different locales and textures being very detailed although its not the best out there. But nothing looks bad so there is nothing to complain about.
The audio is amazing. The infinity ward audio team are an amazing bunch with some the most realistic sounding weapons and effects. On top of that they were able to get Hans Zimmer to compose the music and it works amazing well.
Overall Infinity Ward puts out another great game. It is one of the best multiplayer games of the year and the single player is very very engaging although its a little short. But that is fine since players can jump into the spec ops where they can play some quality coop levels. If you want to play multiplayer definity buy the game. IF you only plan to play the single player just rent it and enjoy the single player.
