Exciting at first, Terrible in the End

I was very, very excited for this game when it was released, I even stood in a line, waited for three hours, got it, went home, played it for a month... then sold it. If you ask me it was interesting to begin with, a fun...ish multiplayer, but the single player was a failure, just an over the top action movie with the 'realistic' tag slapped on. My complaint isnt the realism issue, i could care less about how realistic a game is, I play Halo. But heres the thing: a good game is balanced.  Modern Warfare's online has hundreds of problems ranging from overpowered weapons to the killstreaks. Killstreaks are annoying. Yes I have a couple nukes to my name too, its not that big of a deal. It was a cool idea executed poorly. My big problem with multiplayer games is the maps, there isnt a single map I liked and I have played few games lately with interesting maps, but these were just bland and ugly. I played both the PC and the Xbox versions and the graphical differance is astonishing. The 360 looks disgusting. The textures and compacted and blocky the guns sound awful, way to quiet, when i fire a gun i want to hear it go bang, not pop. Back to the graphics: they're grey, brown and thats about it, next gen awfulness. The sound is poorer than almost any other game I've played, and the gunplay is annoying and unsatisfying. Yes I hate MW2, but I loved MW1 despite its flaws, however this game just needs to die, a waste of time and money.  Then again if you're 13 and get off to explosions this is the game for you.

Entertaining singleplayer, addictive multiplayer & co-op to boot! 0

Modern Warfare 2 takes place five years after the events of of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Despite your best efforts, the ultra-nationalist have wrangled control of Russia proclaiming Zakhaev, everyone's favourite one-armed bad guy, as a national hero and political martyr. As in previous Call of Duty games, you step inside the body of several distinct characters over the course of  the campaign's five to seven hours of gameplay. Though entertaining, the story itself twist and turns so radica...

      Even more Modern Warfare-r 0

Coming into Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, I had a high set of expectations, primarily set by Infinity Ward's previous game; Call of Duty 4. CoD4 came completely out of left field for me, revitalising my interest in what I believed to be a tired, played-out franchise; the change of setting, compelling campaign, and addictive multiplayer making it one of my top 5 games of 2007. Riding in on this wave of euphoria and excitement Modern Warfare 2 had a lot to live up to.   The campaign follows a si...
