Uh.

It's their job to cover popular games.  Of course they're going to cover Modern Warfare 3 extensively.  WTF kind of question is this?

#5 Posted by billnyethesciencepie (1336 posts) -
@AjayRaz: im asking if you personally want them to..
#6 Edited by thehexeditor (1404 posts) -

Deal with it.

#7 Posted by Ursus_Veritas (383 posts) -

Regardless of whether people like it or not, it's going to be a massively popular game. Why wouldn't they cover one of the biggest releases of the year?

#8 Posted by Mahonay (828 posts) -

I'm sorry, but this is dumb.

#9 Posted by billnyethesciencepie (1336 posts) -
@Mahonay: idiot read the poll

im not saying they shouldnt, im asking what people PERSONALLY THINK
#10 Posted by Dustpan (1694 posts) -

It's a Call of Duty game, tons of people are looking forward to it, they should cover it.

It is dumb though.
#12 Posted by Sjosz (486 posts) -

It is a game, it is actual, so yes.

#13 Posted by StaleCrouton (20 posts) -

Do I give a crap about MW3? No. I really don't. Should they cover it? Of course!

#14 Edited by EuanDewar (5098 posts) -

Personally I don't mind, its a big popular game I'm excited for and one worth covering. Although in the end its up to them, they cover what they're interested in and wouldn't cover it if they didn't care.

#15 Posted by Cloudenvy (5891 posts) -

I think they should keep covering it considering that a lot of people care about that game.

WANT IT SAYS WANT NOT SHOULD PEOPLE
#17 Posted by CrazyBagMan (858 posts) -

It's a big game. Giantbomb is a site about video games. They should cover it.

#18 Posted by CarpetRemnant (375 posts) -

Should they cover it? Yes. Do I want them to cover it? No.

HEY GUYS, DO YOU THINK GIANT BOMB SHOULD STILL COVER GAMES?  PERSONALLY I THINK THEY SHOULD SPEND MORE TIME ON HANDBAGS.

Your question is arbitrary and irrelevant.  Good sir, I am not the idiot here.
#20 Posted by Toxin066 (3326 posts) -

Yeah, I do. Otherwise, I'll never know what's up with it. It's not like I plan on buying it, but I'd still like to know what it's about.

#21 Posted by Whitestripes09 (434 posts) -

No not really.... the game seems to be rehashed, the characters that actually matter seem to have barely any screen time, and where are the new features? I hated Spec Ops why would I want to play it again? It seems also the people at GB were not that impressed by it either.

#22 Posted by phish09 (1110 posts) -

Of course.  It would be like asking a business news website to not cover anything relating to the oil industry.

Modern Warfare is huge.  It's one of the biggest selling franchises ever.  What next?  Should stop covering Mario?  Uncharted?  Halo?  Starcraft?  Maybe they should cover games that only certain users are interested in.  That would be a great way to make this site more appealing.

I think it's more or less implied that when you say "I think they should keep covering it" it means that you personally want them to cover it, unless you say otherwise.
#25 Posted by itsmadness (143 posts) -

I want them to cover it. Who knows, it might be MINDBLOWING. Probably not, but there is a chance.

Why wouldn't you want coverage of a game? Seems weird to me.

#26 Posted by MrXD (240 posts) -

What the hell kind of a question is this? Of course they will cover this game, it's the most biggest video game news so far.

#28 Posted by Hexogen (766 posts) -

I think this question could have been simplified to, "Do you care about Modern Warfare 3?" To which I say sure, why not?

#29 Posted by PenguinDust (12626 posts) -

Yeah, I like reading about games I will probably never play.  I've seen all the Quick Looks involving the Wii and I don't own one and in all likelihood, never will.  Now, I might play MW3 at some point in the future, but since I only play single-player games these days, it won't be until I can buy it used cheap.  In the meantime, though since COD is such a force in the gaming industry, I believe it is important to see what it is doing and what the response is to it since it might herald changes in the overall gaming industry.  I don't play World of Warcraft anymore either, but I still want to know what Blizzard is up to with that franchise for those same reasons.

Whether we hate it or not, whether it sucks or not, whether the staff dislike it or not, it's the most popular game around.
Being that popular makes it a social necessity for us players to play it so we be part of the shindig, and it's a social necessity for video game journalists to be 'hip' to it in order to be cool.

Jeff, a long-time video game journalist who allegedly owns 3000+ games and who is widely praised as an honest and experienced gamer, talks about COD in the annual COD Quick Look like it's some hot innovative new game.. He has to act like he likes it, and has to have his VG-based website cover it, because it's the hot stuff.

I personally think they should cover as many games as they can, and especially the ones with a lot of hype built around them. So yes, I want them to continue their coverage.

#36 Posted by GunslingerPanda (4858 posts) -

OP is an idiot.

No, I don't want them to cover it as I have no interest in the game. However, there's a ton of people who want info on it, and it's a big franchise (no idea why) so of course they should fucking cover it. This is a loaded question, and a poor attempt at trolling. Try harder next time, child.

You've just picked up on that?
#38 Posted by TheGreatGuero (9130 posts) -

Can you at least give us some sort of reasoning as to why we might not want them to? What is the meaning of all this? I'm assuming you hate Modern Warfare and are incredibly bothered by it being a newsworthy game?

OH GOD CAPS LOCK, FUCKING CAPS LOCK.  I SAID IT WITH CAPS LOCK.
#42 Posted by stringbacon (89 posts) -

If they are going to be more concerned with digital watches than the gameplay, then yes.

#43 Posted by NoelVeiga (1115 posts) -

I don't play that much Call of Duty and I never have, but come on, it's a pretty good game. It may or may not be relevant to your interests, but this bullshit trend in which nerds immediately assume that anything popular is automatically bad is extremely annoying.

Seriously, nerd is the new hipster.

WoW is a pretty good game, console ports are perfectly competent entertainment and there is no intrinsic advantage in PC gaming or keyboard and mouse controls. Moving on.

It's true though, don't you think? Imagine the GB staff disliking COD and thus not covering it so well/talking about it with interest. You just failed to compute because you couldn't imagine that because it's impossible, right? :)

No, you were asking a loaded question to get attention because you think you are unique in disliking CoD.

Really? Really? Not sure if it would more pathetic if you were serious about that, or if it was your best attempt at trolling.
#49 Posted by Moth_Pope (458 posts) -

Yep. I'd like to see their coverage on it. Game'll be huge so they'd never leave it out, nor would I want them to.

#50 Posted by S0ndor (2716 posts) -

I have no interest in it, but it's one of the biggest titles of the year. Giantbomb not covering Call of Duty games would make about as much sense as Top Gear ignoring high end cars.
