Call of Duty

Originally starting as a World War II-themed first-person shooter, the Call of Duty franchise now incorporates other time periods and conflicts and can be found on virtually every modern platform.

Locations

Afghan

Afghan is a Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer map. Wide open, expansive desert map with mountainous terrain and a downed AC-130.
Afghanistan

Afghanistan is a culturally mixed nation, a crossroads between the East and the West, and has been an ancient focal point of trade and migration. It has an important geostrategical location, connecting South, Central and Southwest Asia.
Africa

Africa has become a popular setting for video games due to it's expansive landscapes and various environments.
Airplane

Games that happen inside of airplanes.
Airport

A place where airplanes land and take off, hopefully. Also where food is really, really overpriced, and intrigue always seems around the corner, at least in video games.
Amusement Park

Sometimes a fun place, other times a nightmare come true.
Area 51

The infamous U.S. military base where secret experiments on aircraft and weapons are said to be performed. A common conspiracy theory is that Area 51 is a place where alien UFO's are stored.
Ascension

Ascension is a Halo 2 multiplayer map that is set on a Forerunner relay station on Delta Halo.
Asia

Asia is the largest continent in the world, it spans from part of the Soviet Union all the way down to Indonesia. It goes from Japan to the Middle East.
Attic

Apart from the basement, the scariest place in the house.
Azerbaijian

A Eurasian country that borders the Caspian Sea.
Bar

A place to buy alcoholic beverages and to mingle/meet with non player characters. Bars in games are sometimes essential to advance the plot, or recruit party members. Bars are the modern equivalents of taverns. You see taverns in fantasy games and bars in modern/sci-fi games.
Barnyard

As the name says, a barnyard is a barn with a yard around it. it may also have the farmer's house along with various farm animals.
Barracks

A building where soldiers sleep.
Basketball Court

An area where basketball is played.
Bathroom

A room which is devoted entirely to hygiene, containing a toilet and sometimes a sink. Residential bathrooms typically have a shower or bathtub.
Beach

Beaches are slopes of sand, gravel, or pebbles that lead down to the water of an ocean, sea, river, or lake.
Bedroom

The room in the house where sleeping and other activities take place. It is also the place where clothes are stored and are likely to be taken off. For some people it is the place where they do the least and most strenuous activities.
Beijing

The capital of China and home of the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Belgium

A country in west Europe, situated between France, Germany, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The country has a population of 10.5 million people and its capital is Brussels.
Berlin

The capital city of Germany and one of the real world locations used in Rock Band.
Brazil

A country located in South America.
Bridge

Because some bridges are too large to be considered mere objects.
Bunker

A hardened shelter, often buried partly or fully underground, designed to protect the inhabitants from falling bombs or other attacks.
Burger Town

Burger Town is a burger joint in Modern Warfare 2 that gets attacked by Russians.
Caen

A town in northwestern France that was ravaged during the battle of Normandy in WWII.
Cafeteria

A type of food service location in which there is little or no table service.
Call of the Dead

The 2nd downloadable Zombies map for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Call of the Dead takes place at a abandoned lighthouse in the Siberian tundra in which players take on the zombie horde and the powerful George Romero, who has become a super-powered being.
Carentan

Carentan is a small community located in La Manche region of Normandy, France. The town was not only the site of a fierce battle between the German 6th Fallschirmjäger Regiment and the American 101st Airborne Division, but it lies very close to the site of the Battle of the Bloody Gulch, a conflict which appears in several games.
Castle

A large building constructed of stone, used as a defensive structure. They usually date from the Middle Ages.
