Siliconera did a little digging and had a source from Gamestop (as well as evidence in their database) let slip that Catherine is set for a tentative July 26 release date.
One would expect the announcement to come in the near future.
Catherine
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Feb 17, 2011
The first game developed by Atlus for the PS3/Xbox 360. Made by the Persona Team, The game is an "adult oriented" action-adventure/horror game with puzzle platforming stages.
Catherine set for July release?
I think E3 might be a good time for an announcement. If it doesn't show up then, I'd bet on a late 2011 release.
Yeah, but Gamestop isn't the only one who's been putting up July 26th as a release date. This is like the 4th site already," Websites like Gamestop put up placeholder dates all the time. They aren't even remotely grounded in reality, they just make them up. "
Besides, Atlus has been very unsubtle with their hints about localizing this game the past week towards people on their mailing lists. I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be true.

The same thing its been from the start:" So then what is all the stuff about Atlus haveing no plans to bring Catherine over here anytime soon about? "
A stock PR response.
I seriously doubt "we" (being the US) will see this game anytime soon. They have said that there are no plans for bringing it over here. And GameStop is not a reliable source, never come with GameStop news unless you are making a joke. Don't get me wrong I would love to see this game over here. But America is easily confused by games like this and the Japanese know it. So it's highly doubtful we will see this any time soon. But one can always hope.
I don't wanna sound like a broken record...but:

Look for a Big Atlus announcement tomorrow that's all we can say at the moment.
And some other stuff I don't feel like digging up. Its not even a question of "if" anymore.
And Atlus JP has very little sway over Atlus USA.
" I think E3 might be a good time for an announcement. If it doesn't show up then, I'd bet on a late 2011 release. "Might be a animecon announcement as well thats where they announced P4
" @mutha3: What other sites have been listing July 26th as Catherine's release date? So far, I've only been seeing people refer to GameStop when they talk about its possible release date and that's probably just a placeholder date. "EBgames had it listed as 26th as well. Along with a sketchy site who's name I can't remember.
I guess, we'll see tomorrow!

that's just a boilerplate statement from a PR guy when they aren't sure yet, and it's fairly obvious they plan to at this point, especially since there was some big atlus news coming tomorrow." Didn't Atlus publicly come out and state that no release was planned in the US ? http://beefjack.com/news/atlus-no-plans-for-catherine-in-north-america/ "
" EBgames had it listed as 26th as well. Along with a sketchy site who's name I can't remember. I guess, we'll see tomorrow! "EB Games = GameStop. They're both the same thing. And that sketchy site probably took the date from the possibly placeholder GameStop/EB Games sites. For all we know, tomorrow could be an announcement for a P2P release in North America.
Yeah, no." @mutha3 said:

Atlus USA, rarely , if ever announces its games prior to release date in Japan(especially not two months prior like would be the case here) and when you add in the part where they've have been teasing Catherine very unsubtly for the past week or so......yeaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.
I wouldn't bet on it.
I'd be a lot more worried about P2P coming out then Catherine.....not that I would be worried.
Is there? I can honestly not remember a single SMT game announced prior to its release date with exception of one with very extraordinary circumstances(Persona 4)" @mutha3: Sure, but there are always exceptions to the rules.
Nah, you're probably right about that, but that tidbit of info is unrelated to the impending announcement tomorrow. No way in hell do we get to hear about Persona 2 Portable tomorrow. Especially when you factor in the emails we've been getting.
And that still doesn't dismiss the possibility of July 26th, 2011 being a placeholder release date. "
Hell, SOMEONE QUOTE ME ON WHAT I JUST SAID AND POINT AND LAUGH AT ME IF I'M PROVEN WRONG(i won't be)

That was just PR talk they are trained to deny deny deny until an announcement is made. I still don't think it will be that early as July unless they been working on the us release from the start. i would expect it next year some time.
" @FluxWaveZ said:isn't EBgames just the canadian version of gamestop or something like that?" @mutha3: What other sites have been listing July 26th as Catherine's release date? anyway, i'm quite sure they actually are the same company, so no surprise there
" @FluxWaveZ said:I'm talking generally and not about a specific ATLUS case. It's not because that's how they always did it that it'll always be like that, 100%, in the future. And I wasn't stating P2P as if that's what I believed that was going to happen. I was giving a possibility of what could happen. The announcement could be a few things other than a North American Catherine release date. Personally, I believe that's what it is, but I won't be surprised if it's something else.Is there? I can honestly not remember a single SMT game announced prior to its release date with exception of one with very extraordinary circumstances(Persona 4)"" @mutha3: Sure, but there are always exceptions to the rules.
" I will make sweet love to everyone in this thread if this turns out to be true. "Everyone?
" @mutha3: Obviously everyone here is all wrong. Tomorrow's announcement is going to have the world premiere announcement for another Devil Children game, as well as a sequel to Imagine. Oh, and most importantly, they're going to localize SMT: Nine because why not? BET ON IT. "Localize NINE!? Are you crazy? They're going to announce the sequel, TEN!
Oh, and also those awesome Persona cell phone games are gonna get localized and released for iOS and Android. Now, you too can play mediocre platformers starring Aigis and learn the origin story behind her bow!
10 days after my birthday. At least it's a couple months out so I don't have to feel bad about picking up my Japanese version.
@mutha3: Damn straight! Doesn't this stuff just look like it comes from a winner!?
It would be awesome to see it released in the US so soon. I played the demo and found the game rather intriguing.
