Siliconera did a little digging and had a source from Gamestop (as well as evidence in their database) let slip that Catherine is set for a tentative July 26 release date.
 
One would expect the announcement to come in the near future.

I think E3 might be a good time for an announcement. If it doesn't show up then, I'd bet on a late 2011 release.

Websites like Gamestop put up placeholder dates all the time. They aren't even remotely grounded in reality, they just make them up.

If this is true its the quickest U-Turn in videogames, what was it like 5 days ago they said there was no plans for a release outside of Japan?
 
Thats a pretty large jump from "We have no plans to do it." to "Its happening, and in a few months."

Would be grand if we'll be getting this game over here as well asap.
To be honest, I haven't really looked at any of the vids, because I want to experience the full unblemished unspoiled ride :)

I seriously doubt "we" (being the US) will see this game anytime soon. They have said that there are no plans for bringing it over here. And GameStop is not a reliable source, never come with GameStop news unless you are making a joke. Don't get me wrong I would love to see this game over here. But America is easily confused by games like this and the Japanese know it. So it's highly doubtful we will see this any time soon. But one can always hope.

It would be awesome to see it released in the US so soon. I played the demo and found the game rather intriguing.

I only accept hard evidence before I believe something to be true. I'm sure it will be released here eventually though.
