Crysis 2 and why game devs should die

Ok, so way back a few years ago, Crysis was released on the PC and people were like HOLY SHIT THIS GAME LOOKS AWESOME. Well the crazy good graphics made people overlook some of the core gameplay flaws, but it was a game that worked and that attempted to say: pc gaming isn't dead. Well it's 2011 and EA and Crytek have decided: fuck pc gaming, lets generalize Crysis 2 to the consoletards. Really I don't hate my 360 or my PS3, but I have an undying love for my pc because 1: better controls, 2: better graphics, 3: we have star craft fucking 2. Ok, so there's alot of shit wrong with Crysis 2 but lets talk about the good stuff first:
This sequel has been long awaited and highly anticipated and all that good shit. The campaign clocks in at around 7 hours so it's not too long, not too short and it's a fairly decent thrill ride. The world looks stunning, really this is a beautiful game. The game play is tight and works, but it feels often overly underwhelming at times.
Alright that was enough good stuff, now for what's shitty:
The campaign: Horrible about sums it up once you get past some of the cooler segments. It's paced like an action movie which isnt bad by all means, but there's that overdone shock and awe perspective that makes me wonder if infinity ward stuck their little herpes infested cock in this. Another thing that pisses me off is how epically poor the gameplay is. It's generic, the game plays just like MW2 which makes me want to crush a babies skull. There's nothing fun to it anymore. EA curb stomped any exploration and went right to the linear shitty gameplay that marks almost every game they make. Seriously Crysis was good, Crysis 2 just fucking fails and sucking the player in or providing any incentive for continuing the bland unimaginative story. There's only so much you can do with sci-fi, i understand... wait you can do FUCKING ANYTHING with sci-fi it's a great universe and there was just so much more they could have expanded on to keep the shitty story going. Aside from all that shit, the guns feel weak and they dont sound all that nice (Classic MW syndrome). The music is pathetic, it sounds like they looped the same action music for everything and the overall soundtrack just sucks ass in general. There really are some spectacular moments, but the pacing just falls apart. On another note the campaign is heavily scripted and suffers due to it. Stealth, while it has received some definite improvement, is overall useless in the end, you can run and gun just like any other game and will not be punished for it.
Multiplayer has also received a severe downgrade making everything an unlockable, rather than having to really work for it. Fucking MW syndrome here again. People seem to die too easily and while the stealth and armor modes mix it up a bit it's still bland generic material your 13 year old son masturbates to because he's too ugly to get a girl. As much hope as I had for this game, it has all been squashed and discintigrated, and with how fucking stupid every game released by EA has been lately... I.E fucking up DA:2 and such theres really no hope anymore. People will buy shitty games and those of us looking for an intersting experience will be consistantly let down. Fuck the shooter market and fuck Crysis 2.
I get it, I'm an angry person, you dont need to tell me, but i shouldnt have to tell you: jerking off to explosions makes your dick smaller you fucking faggot. So when a decent shooter comes out I'll play it, till then play something good that isn't just a time sink

      Good showing on Crytek. 0

I've never been much of a Crytek guy, I've found their tech impressive but the games behind them less impressive, the original Crysis gave people a different feel to the shooter genre but was always overshadowed by its stellar visuals. Crysis 2 reverses what once was, the setting while a bit generic is one of the most immersive settings out there but it's in it's gameplay that Crysis 2 truly shines, With loose ties to the first game this game is a beast all on its own.     Set in 2033 it begins ...

      A New York Minute 0

Crysis 2 has had PC gamers worried. Crytek’s first foray into this futuristic world of military grade Nanosuits and alien invasions was a landmark title for the platform. Besides from the open, sprawling battlefields and novel abilities granted by the Nanosuit, this was a shooter lauded for its technical profligacy. The gaming rigs of its day couldn’t run it at its highest settings, and if there was ever a reason to showcase the PC’s graphical prowess, Crysis was by far and away the game t...
