Crysis 2 is a visual treat to the eyes.   Crysis 2 is a visually pleasing game. OK it is a REALLY visually appealing game, but as you know that is only a portion of what makes a game great. Crytek has utilized their CryENGINE 3 to create a game that looks, feels, and plays very differently from the slew of first person games out there. PC players can still max out the settings and enjoy the benefits of a mouse & keyboard, but now console players can experience the story of the nanosuited sol...

by Cody Newill In a world where linearity became the standard mechanic of shooters, and the original Crysis sold abysmally, it is strange to see Crysis 2 continue option oriented, or systemic, game design. It is virtually alone in this respect—the Call of Duty mode of design has pervaded most modern shooters—but this game doesn’t need allies. Indeed, Crysis 2 is all the more engaging due to its unique position as a model for how to make on-the-fly options work, and acts as the thinking mans sho...

I recently bought Crysis 2 after playing the first Crysis and been playing since. The game introduces some interesting game mechanics that others do not have, which are all unique but are used together throughout the game in a interesting way which will separate this game from others.  Now in this sequel, instead of being on a crazy lush jungle filled with Koreans, you are in New York, or an urban jungle. eh. A new idea which did work out for them. You start of the game with a great cut scene...

FPS games have been growing stale. For the most part, the market is flooded with military shooters, and many of them satisfy the exact same itch. Crysis 2 finds itself potentially overlooked as a result of this, and that's a shame, because it revitalized my interest in the FPS genre.  What sets Crysis 2 apart from the rest is the Nanosuit. With the touch of a button, you can turn partially invisible, become much more resilient to damage, and scan the battlefield for strategic opportunities. All ...

CRYSIS 2 Review      The shooter genre has given up plenty of different types of games this generation but I think we can all agree they’re starting grow tiresome if not repetitive. Not to fret though, there are some gems out there. Crysis 2 suits you up (no pun intended) in a futurist New York City to defend off aliens known as the Ceph. The norm for first person shooters has taken a shift for a while now towards the call of duty idealism and that’s where Crysis 2 shines. Although it still h...
