Players return to the post-Apocalypse in the sequel to 2010's Darksiders, this time as former protagonist War's fellow Horseman of the Apocalypse, Death, the pale rider, who seeks to resurrect Humanity to clear his brother's good name.
The only reason to live in 2012 is death...
I love Darksiders!
Seriously, hearing about the changes they're making to the sequel has put me on the edge. Darksiders II is 5 months away and I can barely contain myself.
Town Hubs, NPCs, side-quests and customisation - literally everything they could have added to perfect the Darksiders experience.
Want.
This sorta makes me interested, but I didn't like the original all that much from playing the demo a couple of times. Maybe I should just give up my completionist ways and say that I don't have to have played the original to try this.
I love that they're expanding this one to make it more of an RPG.
I probably won't buy it on day one, but I'm still pretty excited about it.
I hate this thing they do with sequels where they feel that they have to one-up the previous story so much that they over-compensate and end up nullifying some cool aspects of the characters in the past. They basically spend two minutes describing why the guy the entire first game is focused around is a pussy. I get it, they want their new character to look awesome, but can't they accomplish this without gimping the previous character's own badass nature?
It's like when the spinosaurus beat the trex in Jurassic Park 3 all over again.
@HatKing I dont think they could make War look like a wuss. I agree that theyre probably trying to make Death more of a "badass," but all of us who have played the original Darksiders knows that War was no chump. Im super excited for DS2 though, Darksiders was a game that I have traded in multiple times thinking I wouldnt play it through again, and now im on my 5th playthrough.....hopefully Ill just learn to keep it this time.
I've been very excited for this game for quite some time and I am still definitely looking forward to it. I do hope it surpasses the last and DOESN'T force that time-filler near the end down your throat. I almost quit the game because of that shit. Lol, The rest of the game was great, but I don't want to dick around looking for a couple pieces to something for hours.
I can't wait to play the game and I hope they manage to fix some of the issues the first Darksiders had without losing the roughness... if that makes sense.

You and me, we're the same.
Yeah, this is one my most antcipated games of the year. In a lot of ways, Darksiders was the Zelda game I always wanted and drew on my favourite mythology and I am a lover myth and legend in general.
The setup for the second game sounds really cool. Death is the oldest and most experienced of the horsemen and he knows that his brother War (being the most honourable of the 4) would never commit the treason he was accused of and so sets out on a quest to clear his name. I think that exploring the relationships between the horsemen could be very interesing.
also, Despair looks even more badass than Ruin!
I must be one of the only people who played, and really did not enjoy Darksiders. I mean the gameplay and whole design is basically Zelda meets God of War and I don't feel it executes on the puzzle and adventure aspect as well as Zelda does and it doesn't execute on the combat as well as God of War does. It just feels like it's trying too hard to be like other games and fails at being as good as the games it's trying to emulate. I don't know, maybe I'll still give Darksiders 2 a shot, but it needs to be immensely better than the first game if it's going to impress me.
I cannot wait to play this game. I absolutely loved the original Darksiders and Darksiders II has to be one of my most anticipated games of 2012.
Yeah, definitely one of my most anticipated. Randomized lewts? Sign me up!

I liked a lot about this game, but did not like the combat. The exploring was cool as hell and then the combat came. I quit the game during the final boss. I no longer cared.
That was my thought too. Some games are just not for everyone, and Darksiders was one of those for me.
