Some will and some won't agree with me on this.

I wasn't scared shitless most of the time in Dead Space 2, perhaps it's due to completing Dead Space several times. Though I must say, the game is certainly better than the first.

The first wasn't all that scary either - it was more unnerving than outright terrifying for me. I haven't played Dead Space 2, and won't be able to till friday >.<, but it does look to be just as good as the original, if not better.

Dead Space 1 was hardly scary at all to me compared to games like Amnesia, however it was still a lot of fun for me.  The last thing I will expect is for Dead Space 2 to actually frighten me.  I expect that game to just be a lot of fun.

It's not like the first Dead Space was scary. It had like three jump scares, and that was it.

I found the first one pretty frightening, this should do the trick for me.

I thought the first was pretty nerve racking just because of the atmosphere of the game. The enemies themselves were only sometimes scary, usually when you were outnumbered and were very low on ammo. I was a bit scared from the demo of dead space 2, so i imagine the full game will do the trick for me. Also it is not the kind of scary that keeps you up at night, its more of in the moment terrifying kind of scary.

There is too much action in Dead Space for it to have any proper amount of "scary".

If you want scary, play something that relies less on guns and more on you avoiding and risking contact with "things".
    Amnesia, Penumbra, Condemned.

I never found Dead Space scary, so so long as they managed to maintain a convincing atmosphere, I'll be fine.

These games are not really scary in a horror movie kinda way...more just INTENSE in the "holy fuck if one more of those bloody assholes gets to me I'm gonna die and i only have two shots and there hasn't been a save in forever and that noise better not be another necromorph."

One thing the 2nd defiantly does not lack is intensity...especially toward the end when the plot starts getting awesome

Im not trying to put myself forward as some hard arse person who doesn't get scared at all (in fact quite the opposite) but there was not one time in Dead Space where I felt in anyway unnerved or just simply scared, none of the jump scares really did it for me either.

It relies a bit too much on pop out scares.

I really hope they have a surprise in store for me, because like most horror sequels I can't shake that feeling of "but I've already seen the monster".

I can't play scary games, and I beat Dead Space. It had tense moments, but nothing like F.E.A.R fuck that game.
