I ended up renting the original Dead Space and finishing it within the rental time. I'm quite tempted to buy the CE for Dead Space 2, hoping that the multiplayer will add some length to the game's life span in my console. So are you buying or renting Dead Space 2?
Dead Space 2
Game » consists of 18 releases. Released Jan 25, 2011
Dead Space 2 is the sequel to the 2008 surprise hit Dead Space. The no-longer-silent Isaac Clarke finds himself trapped on a city-sized space station called the Sprawl, which has been overtaken by another Necromorph infestation.
To buy, or not to buy?
Probably buying but don't expect longevity because of the multiplayer. It looks like something that will hold attention for only a couple days.
The Multiplayer looked sort of bad from the QL, maybe they fixed it a bit since then but I wouldn't expect it to prolong the life a whole lot. I will probably buy it, maybe not as soon as it comes out though.
Go for it. Just remember your mom will hate it. Also, I still have to finish the first one so I won't be buying it anytime soon.
I love when Single Player games shoe horn in a shitty multi player mode that no one will play a couple of weeks after the release. That said I can't wait for Dead Space 2.
This question would seem better suited as buying the regular edition or renting it. I mean, if your thinking of buying the CE edition, I would take it you really like the game and Dead Space in general. If so, get it. If your basing it on the mp (for some reason), just rent it...i guess. Or maybe just buy the regular version.
" @Ahmad_Metallic said:jesus christ you guys are hardcore !!" buying only because it takes me for fucking ever to beat long games "..Dead Space? I don't know what you'd consider long, but the first was under 10 hours for me, with it taking around 5-6 hours on any consecutive playthroughs. "
if you dont consider Dead Space long, i dunno what is ! its been dragging for me for a couple of months now, and im only at the middle of chapter 10
i mean with the various factors of real life (work, sleep, school, friends and girlfriends and occasions), having about 5 other games in your backlog (the average gamer plays about 4-5 games at a time amirite?), and the fact that the human nature cant stand playing the same game for too long (especially when its spooky and full of scares and tension), i simply do not UNDERSTAND how you're possibly able to beat a game like Dead Space and not call it long
Hell even if you're not a social person, and im not, you gotta work and sleep, eat and shit and watch some tv and movies and play 2 other games a day.. how can you progress in such a tense game with all those other factors ? im truly shocked..
maybe i dont have a good attention span, maybe i get bored easily, and maybe being an emotional wimp makes me moody and unable to maintain a solid fucking playthrough (unless its a groundbreaking game like RDR), but games like Dead Space seem infinite for me, because they're neither short and exciting like Call of Duty, nor are they extraordinarily engaging like Mass Effect, a long game i beat pretty fucking quick, with all side missions included.
its right in the middle and takes forever..
i mean its extremely polished and very immerse with some jaw dropping mechanics, however its not interesting ENOUGH to keep me tuned in for long periods of time.. its just you killing aliens in various ways and shapes trying to get a fucking space shuttle working. how exciting can that be ?
I really liked the first game, and will probably buy Dead Space 2. The multiplayer honest doesn't interest me that much though.
