Death has never felt so good... and painful.
Demon's Souls for the PS3 brings memories of childhood experiences with video games. Bragging to yours friends how you got past that one part that no one could get past and to then get your butt handed to you and maybe a second serving the next time you try, but something about Demon's Souls makes it all worth while.
The story isn't especially deep, but gives you enough that you know you have to kick some demon butt. The graphics at times are incredibly epic and immersive, as you will be running as fast as you can across a bridge before the dragon flying above you turns you into a pile of ashes and armor. Tho there is some jitters here and there, it isn't anything bad enough to take you away from the experience.
The meat of the game is the gameplay, and boy is it thrilling. The game makes you feel like your actually a badass and you really are a hero saving the world killing one demon at a time. walking slowly down a tight corridor with my large shield covering my body pushing forward and thrusting my blade through every foe who stands in my way. You will spend your time collecting souls (used for upgrading everything) and go throughout the the worlds finding loot (For Diablo 2 fans) and going to your main hub (Nexus) and relax and spend your souls.
The online is interestingly integrated but may not be appealing to all. You will see players writing messages on the floor and warn you or give you hints on whats ahead. The blood stains will replay how other players died which you will find all around the floors of the world, and lastly you are be able to be called for help if you want and help a player kill demon's with up to 3 people and or you can call on others.
Like i said, Demon's Souls is a thrilling and fun and one of the most difficult experiences I had with a game. As a gamer who plays Monster Hunter and has beaten Ninja Gaiden black and if those games interest you then maybe this will also spark your interest.
