Smaller price, even smaller content
Dragon Age: Origins, in addition to providing a ton of content, has also delivered on the DLC; that is up until now. With the added content pack Return to Ostagar, the player gets to experience a rather wintry version of the memorable first (after the Origin stories) location. Even though a few new areas are introduced in addition to Ostagar, there's nothing really fantastical about it. Sure, you get to fight enemies in the ruins of Ostagar, but the added areas don't add too much more dungeon space to crawl.
The bonus content featured in this addon can't even be compared to the other two DLC releases thus far. Stone Prisoner introduced two, whole new areas that provided a new dungeon crawl experience, in addition to another character to add to your party that pretty much rocked. Warden's Keep introduced a whole new home base, if you will, for the Warden's with extended bag space in the form of a bank. What do we get in Return to Ostagar? The ability to get your dog if you made the wrong choice. That's not too exciting. Oh ya, and there's htat forgettable, King Cailan's armor set.
Not everything is that bad though, as story wise it does tie up the loose ends at Ostagar rather nicely, if not bluntly. I would definitely say experience this DLC around your late teens, as the armor and weapon set obtained is pretty good for Warriors around that level, even up into the twenties.
Overall, this is a not-so-stellar package with only a few redeeming values, in the way of story. It's 400 point price tag does justify it a little, and anyone who is a die-hard fan of Origins should pick it up. For everyone else, tread lightly. The other two DLC packs should dfeinitely be enjoyed before this one.
