    What NWN should have been

With crisp graphics, enjoyable storyline and a deep pen and paper roleplaying system at it's core. This game is not to be missed. Although it will not feel as original as say Mass Effect or Fallout 3. It definately has alot of atmosphere, the music and detailed artwork is surprisingly good.

Drakensang is based on a german pen and paper roleplaying system, using 3D20, instead of the Dungeons n Dragons (D20) system. Although it's not totally different, it is very much more close to european pen and paper systems with alot of focus on skills/talents. (no memorizing spells here)

The game is a mix between Never Winter Nights 2, The Witcher and Oblivion, played from a 3rd person perspective with 4 partymembers (plus guests). The game can be paused anytime by pressing space, and is turnbased, yet flowing along if you never paus the action. It also uses a hotbar for easy access of items and abilities.

I have yet to finish the entire game yet, but I am 20 hours in and hours just dissapears playing this. This game is so far very low fantasy but with a very cool design. Characters looks very good and got alot of personality. Voiceovers are for the most parts good, but most often only the first sentences of dialogue are VO when encountering NPCs.

Drakensang - A diamond in the rough 0

Overview I was skeptical at first:"Drakensang The Dark Eye? A pen and paper game by a German developer?" Fortunately all my suspicions were unfounded. Drakensang turned out to be a very good pen and paper RPG, even though the story and characters aren't all they could have been, arguably its the best work Radon Labs has done, a now, unfortunately defunct developer. It will take you about 50 hours to complete this huge RPG game, so you can be sure that Drakensang is worth the price tag, which sh...
