Someone said DNF (or in this case, Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded) should have first-person full frontal male and female nudity where you watch Duke and the strippers have sex. He said that it would be a first in gaming to feature such a thing, and that it would bridge the gap between sex and gaming. He also pointed out that video games have illegal drugs and murder in them, so why not have sex too, it's only a natural part of human life. I agree with him that there should be a game to do this, however I disagree that the game to do this should be Duke Nukem Forever or Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded. It's still an option however.
Duke Nukem Forever
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Jun 14, 2011
After approximately fourteen years of development, the heavily infamous sequel to Duke Nukem 3D was finally released, in which the macho Duke must damper yet another alien invasion.
I was on another forum & someone raised an interesting point.
How about no. Is it really necessary to have sex in games? I mean, sure, it's artsy. But that doesn't mean it's fun, or adds anything of value to the game.
" @LibraryDues said:You thought he had one? O.o" I want to be able to look down and see Duke's two penises. "Two penises? "

He obviously has at least 5.

"As much as I understand this opinion very well, that is purely subjective. If we want to push gaming to also include more interesting storylines, we have to cross this bridge eventually. However I would agree that first off, we would need more stories that are actually written well first. The gaming industry is still too immature to properly cater for such a thing, as nowadays they still have sex as an achievement rather than an important and tasteful plot point.
Just because you and plenty of others don't care for this sort of thing, doesn't mean others do not want stuff like this in their games. So long as it is tasteful of course. Is the gaming industry ready for this kind of thing now though? I would say no for sure.

The thing about the argument of Violence/Sex in video games is that the violence actually has relevance to the gameplay. The enemies are in your way and you need to murder them all to complete the objectives. Whereas sex would just be there to be edge or controversial. If they could figure out a way to actually make it matter then it wouldn't be awful but it being there just to be there is a bad idea. Unless there's a part where you have a shootout while having sex (Like in the brilliant Clive Owen joint Shoot 'Em Up), that would be okay.
If you want porn just go watch porn
why would I want to watch sprites awkwardly clip through each other
Adding sex for the sake of sex to a game has very little artistic merit. It seems like a cheap ploy to drum up interest and controversy, and get people to buy a game. Granted if an established franchise like Duke Nukem did it, it would be a little different, but while vulgarity is very much the style of Duke Nukem I think this hypothetical scenario where Duke Nukem sets the bar for how tastefully sex scenes are done sounds like a situation which could seriously hurt the way the industry approaches the subject of sex. When we see sex in video games I want to see it done in a way which benefits the quality of the game as much as possible, not in a way that does little more than try and sell as many copies of the game to horny teenagers as possible. Sexual content in video games has been around for a long time, but introducing sex itself to video games is a very delicate thing. Personally I'd like to see it done in the same way that Mass Effect was trying to do it before Fox News shot them down and the explicit content got toned down in the sequel.
No, the way that you bridge sex into videogames is to make it an integral part of two characters becoming closer in an adult relationship, not with a 15 year old boys mastubatory fantasy. That doesn't add anything of substance, and in fact would probably set the movement back. It'd be like if Animal House was the first movie to feature sex and nudity.
If they do that, might as well not publish it anyway, since it won't get published with that...nonsense... in it.
Perfect audience for a typical action flick you'd be.

Sometimes people want something like an interactive story book, with interactive elements such as traditional gameplay segments to make the whole story more alive. I would definitely say not yet, and that our audience is also not mature enough to not see past the "game" part and also ask for a hybrid of static and dynamic experiences." @supermike6 said:I just don't see what it adds to the whole game bit. I may be definitely wrong so you can correct me here if I say, you have little interest in seeing stories in games mature more to even attempt to tackle these issues correctly, in favour of just making more of the same stuff but incrementally improved to fulfull your demands for what amounts to simplistic "fun". I would be fine with that for a lot of games, but personally I would really enjoy a sophisticated storyline that I can interact with more than just the usual offerings that come in year after year.

I definitely don't see fun as the be-all end-all of games, but I do think that enjoying yourself is a key component in the realm of entertainment. So, yes, I do think fun is a very important facet of games and practically all media. But, I'm getting off-topic. Good, deep stories and characters = Fun, and enjoyment
Sex =/= Good Stories.
We're essentially on the same side here.
As funny as all your responders are, there one major flaw here.
There has been sex, and fully frontal nudity, in a number of games. Sorry, this is not a new concept. The reason it doesn't happen [often] is because that begets an AO rating (sexually explicit stuff generally does, nudity itself is actually more common now a days) and most publishers wont publish an AO. When you look at the PC, there is many published "dirty" (read: sexually explicit) games. I'm sure if no one has named any yet, they will. I know of several but I'll leave the naming to other people.
" @ShiftyMagician said:Definitely hearing you there dude. Also heavily agreeing against interactive sex scenes. Sex is fun. Sex doesn't need "merit" to be included. It's sex. Does American Pie: Tri Beta Alpha Gamma Gangbang part 5 have merit? Fuck no. But it totally has sex.
Games should be able to include sex just like R rated movies can. Once all the old farts who think games are joystick-based toys die, ratings systems will get logical and sex will be in games.
Sure, if you want every company that controls a platform to ban this game for sale. You can't sell an AO rated game on any popular system or game delivery service.
Besides, human facsimiles having sex would probably be disturbing to a large number of people, on account of the uncanny valley and all.
