Missed most of the Killzone 3 trailer because there was a streaming fail.
Then a streaming fail at the end made me start yelling "WTF IS IT TWISTED METAL?"

Sony E3 2010 Press Conference Live Blog
Sounds like a dull conference save for the Twisted Metal reveal. At least Microsoft had Bulletstorm and Gears 3.
completely forgot about LBP2. Those levels looked amazing. Lot of shooting games." KZ3 looks more interesting than the second (Jetpack platforming?), the Sorcery game actually seemed cool to me, already sold on LPB2, the Steam/Portal 2 stuff is interesting and Infamous 2 is something I can't wait to play. No Agent? No Last Guardian? No FFVersus? That hurts. Wasn't really into anything else. I was always that guy who didn't want to play Twisted Metal. "
Also Motorstorm Apocalypse looked pretty awesome from what little was shown. But I loved the first 2 so...
Bulletstorm is on PC and PS3 as well. So...ya know. If you think Sony had no games (we are still using this argument?) I'm afraid you are really just pathetic." Sounds like a dull conference save for the Twisted Metal reveal. At least Microsoft had Bulletstorm and Gears 3. "
" Of the Big 3, that was the most underwhelming. Among other things, the lack of The Last Guardian anything is a sever oversight on their part.I agree with everything except calling it the most underwhelming. I would rank them, Nintendo (because of the 3DS), Sony then Microsoft.
And BTW Sony, we wanted real news about the PSP or PSP2, not you intentions on more heavily promoting it. Damn was that segment dumb. "
The lack of Last Guardian attention was ridiculous. Also, mentioning nothing about FFXIII Versus or other Square games was dumb. I know Square is usually most visible at TGS but even hinting at something would have been better than nothing. FFXIV Online doesn't even count as a FF game and mentioning FFXV or something new would have been much more exciting.
I'm under the impression that everyone has Bulletstorm isn't it multiplatform, and the four player co op looks good for gears, but for me thats what gears should have been all along and its taken them 2 other attempts to get there.
It was stated ages ago that Versus wouldn't show at E3 by Square, frankly that decision has nothing to do with Sony, like you i am pretty disappointed it was a no show. And i crushed by the fact that there was no Last Guardian easily my most anticipated game since that one image years ago.
Very hardcore focused conference, very little time spent on casual shit but its a shame that the heavy marketing on the psp started the same day the 3DS was shown, that marketing should have been going on since it came out, now it's too late, Sony should be thinking on the next generation handheld and spend that money on ps3 ad campaigns
@eclipsesis: 4-player co-op is not what I'm interested in, I just want to see the conclusion to one of my favorite shooter series.
In any case, none of this gets to my original argument, that the only interesting reveal was Twisted Metal. Everything else, I already knew/didn't care about.
Also, 3D is definitely more gimmicky than motion control. And all three companies are guilty of the motion control gimmick.
Can't wait for the new Twisted Metal. I was just playing TMB last night and thinking about how much I'd like a new TM game.
For me Gears is all about the gameplay thats why i like the 4 player co op, i wouldn't know much about the story and i'm not really bothered about the conclusion to it, as i skipped every cutscene in the first and second because i found the narrative to be a complete train wreck. Even more so in the second i promise you the whole dom's wife thing made me turn the game off.
It was an okay conference, much better than Microsoft's but paled in comparison with Nintendo's. Some interesting announcements and some great footage of games we already know about just about saved it from the boring self-congratulatory parts. Some of the Move stuff was awkwardly bad, and I guess all the 3D hype was lost on us 2D peasants (the PR speak was also hilarious in light of the 3DS reveal). I can't say i'm impressed by the price of the Move.
Anyone else get the feeling that Sony avoided the hell out of there japanese games so they have something to show at TGS?
judging E3 shows on surprises is for lamewads.
its a games conference.
you want twists then go watch Fight Club or the 6th Sense or go pick up what you think is a female prostitute in Hollywood after the show and lift her skirt.
its like Company A will show off a list of 300 awesome new games that you've heard about and Company B reveals only 1 lame game about a tranny taking a shit, that you havent heard about and you declare Company B the winner.
it ain't Sony's, Microsoft's, Nintendo's fault that you obsessively hunted down every rumor you could before their shows. Sony and Nintendo come in at a tie. Sony had more games and cooler games, Nintendo had some cool games and 3DS. Microsoft was a waste of everybody's time.
your opinions suck. mine is the awesomest.
" Anyone else get the feeling that Sony avoided the hell out of there japanese games so they have something to show at TGS? "I had that feeling. Persona 5 anyone?
yea ^^ expect to see white knight chronicles 2 yakuza 4 atlus ect.. at TGS
Sony played it safe though but it still was good
Sony's confrence was okay but very predictable. Kevin Butler was cool but the skit seemed a bit out of place for a press conference. At least it was better than Microsofts rollercoaster of a press conference.
The graphical fidelity of these games this generation is just amazing. It looks like this year is showing us another leap forward in game engine design.
A bunch of sequels and a dick controller, yay! Can't wait for inFamous 2. Killzone 3 can stay on the shelf.
