All the Syndicate talk had me thinkin about picking it up, but I look on Steam and no dice. I guess Dead Space 2 was the last EA game I'll be playing.

Man, I guess I really wont be buying any more EA games.

On a yacht somewhere, a model is drying the salty tears of an EA executive as he weeps into his Martini at that bombshell of an announcement.

lol. I guess I was suprised that everything from ea was cut off now.

See you when mass effect 3 comes out.Nope, already skipped Battlefield 3.
Is it really that big of a deal that the OP has decided to vote with his wallet? He doesn't want to deal with Origin, so he's not paying for products exclusively sold on Origin. Not seeing the big deal here.
I'm glad you're not buying Crysis 3, it's probably as shitty as its predecessor.
Edit: I'm still wondering why they're calling it Syndicate though.

Not everything. Kingdoms of Amalur was released on Steam. But that was 'only' a EA Partners game...

Fuck the system.
The system requirements are fairly low, if you could play Mass Effect 2, you should be able to play 3 no problem.
That sucks that you're limiting yourself from some potentially cool games. Oh well, hope you change your mind in the future.

I burst into flames of self- righteous indignation over having to pay 60 bucks for a PC game. Right on,..yes..ON FUCKING STEAM Alan Wake, apparantly an excellent port, is going for 30.00, and because I already have Alan Wake for the 360 I am still too cheap.
I'll wait for a STEAM sale...
And maybe for both? hehehe, probably not for Syndicate, though. Will have to be disc from an online retailer.
I saw the 5 star review and part of the Quick Look and decided I might go ahead and buy this game. Went on Steam, it wasn't there, decided just not to play the game.
I already have Origin installed and also Battlefield 3 but for some reason, I just don't really feel like purchasing the game through Origin because Steam is my primary PC platform. I bought and used Origin for BF3 because I really wanted to play BF3 but for a game I'm on the fence for, it not being accessible through the service I prefer and use just means no sale. I guess it's a speak with your dollars kind of thing.
I understand why it's Origin only from EA's POV but they should understand that by limiting the ways the consumer can get their product, it hurts both the consumer and themselves. It may also have to do with the multiplayer and not splintering the user base into two separate services (origin and steam) but even with that being the case, I still thing it's stupid and I'm sure they could have figured out a way to make it work. I haven't been paying attention and maybe Origin isn't EA only at this point, but if it is, it's doubly idiotic. Anyway, I'll gamefly or redbox the game on console if I ever play it at all.
Wow, so much brand loyalty for a digital distribution platform.
Do you actually realize what that says about you?

I guess it's difficult to separate honest gestures from parodies or cries for attention on the internet. Damn you Poe's Law!
Because we don't want to see big big evil company like EA run a small, friendly, Mom-n-Pop shop like Valve out of business? Bit of a shame that a company isn't allowed to sell it's own products sans-middleman without silly, self-righteous, internet indignation.
...also, I refuse to buy any more Valve games until they make them available on Origin (I bet you hear how silly that sounds despite being more-or-less the same thing).

Because it's incredibly silly how people are passing up good games, and games they would otherwise really enjoy simply because they can't buy it on Steam. It's just stupid.

EA is not listed as the publisher for that game on Steam, 38 Studios is: http://store.steampowered.com/app/102500/
I wonder if EA was only handling physical distribution for Amalur PC but left digital to 38 Studios. (Much like, say, Left 4 Dead 2)
Oh look, it's another one of these. You curmudgeons can continue not to buy anything that isn't sold on Steam and not play using anything other than mouse and keyboard, and I'll be over here enjoying all these new games with their intended input methods wondering why people refuse to adapt. Nobody takes your complaint seriously.

Nope it's not a big deal, and that's why no one cares.

There is no reason they can't do both; sell their games on Origin and on Steam, If people want to buy EA games on Steam, EA should be happy to be selling more games.
I love Steam too, but that doesn't mean that Origin should be totally ignored. There are some decent EA games out there. Battlefield 3 was very enjoyable and regardless, I am a Mass Effect freak, so I would end up having to download Origin anyway. Games are games, publishers are making big bucks either way. As far as EA sticking their hands in the Valve pot, it's a little fucking annoying; kind of like they're a little 5 year old screaming "OH! ME TOO! ME TOO!" Yeah... Mass Effect.
Yes I've used it, considering that I have like 4 games connected to it. Unfortunately it's slow, the overlay doesn't work when you're in game, half of the time it tells me that I have the wrong password and because I like to keep my games centered in one hub. I have steam, with 90 games packed into it, and I don't want a whole different client just for one game.@Azteck said:
Not gonna buy it or ME3 either. I have no interest in making origin a success when it's this bad.Whats bad about it? Have you even used it? I've had literally no problems with it.
That actually is a good idea, hadn't thought of that. Literally not used to having a 360 in my house.@Leptok said:

Why not rent it and play it on a console if you're actually interested in the game? That's my Mass Effect 3 plan.
