E3 2011: Far Cry 3 Trailer
+15.....?? +15 what?! Uggghhhhhh. It's not the end of the world but I just don't care and plain don't want to see that. I don't want to be 'leveling up my character', I want to be exploring and acting in an interesting world.
I've written more about my thoughts on this elsewhere but as a Far Cry 2 lover I'm not immediately sold. Still lots of information I need to know about the style of gameplay (is the emergent stuff back among other things) so I'll looking out for that.
Why is the story about a photographer with a kidnapped girlfriend if during gameplay you're a knife-throwing crackshot who can run train on dozens of crazed mercenaries?

Anyone think that this looks too good to be running on a 360? I'm most likely just talking out of my ass but that A button looks a lot like a Wii-remote button. I have also noticed that some videos of this exact same demo video have those button icons taken off. What if this was actually running on the new Nintendo console? I didn't get to see the Ubisoft conference live so I dont know if they actually brought out a 360 controller on stage as they played it.
Have you seen Crysis 2, Gears of War 3, Far Cry 2 or MW2? Doesn't look any better then those games. And the characters don't look super realstic, they have a cartoony style to them, or its just the crazy eyes that make it look like it.
And i seriouslt doubt theres any games running this well on the new Nintendo console at this years E3.
Is it just me, or did this come out of nowhere all of a sudden? I'd never heard that they were making a Far Cry 3, and based on the last game's quality I never would've expected something this cool. But this just looks awesome. The voice acting was excellent too
The only thing they can make Far Cry 3 better than Far Cry 2 is the enemy respawns.Very true... but they can do a lot more than that!
What about the annoying gun jams?
and the overly fast talking?
and the robotic emotionless faces?
and the aimless driving?
and the pointless plot?
If they can bring a bit of... humanity to the this game. A little passion, dare I say, maybe even a tiny itty bit more linear (while still keeping an open approach to combat)? Then I'll be loving it.
Cool beans.
I liked Far Cry 2's concept more than I actually enjoyed playing it, but this looks pretty awesome. Voice acting is really good.
I know its not easy to get out knots and ropes but jeez that QTE was at least 20 seconds. I can't think of any other crazy QTEs like that besides RE5 punching boulders.
But yeah I didn't play Far Cry 2 since I heard not so good things but man this looks good. Especially the Voss dialogue.
The only thing I really didn't like was the button mashing to break the ropes. I mean maybe it won't be used that often but he was hitting it for what 30 seconds? Way too long.
