Bombcast wins CastMedium's Top Honor
"No runner-up here. This pick was so fervently unanimous that it felt right to have the Bombcast stand alone. The thing that sealed its top spot was that everyone agreed that this really is the only podcast that we will consistently listen to single episodes more than once. Funny, informative, off-topic and just a blast– it’s your weekly Bombcast. Cheers to Ryan, Jeff, Vinny and Brad."
Word.
Good to see them getting recognition outside of my rabid, sweaty, man-love.
Here's to more accolades in the future.
I really like how they didn't even pick a runner up, like it was so far ahead of the other ones that it didn't matter.
Bombcast rocks!
Well they're spot on with the awards. I've tried practically every gaming podcast out there at some point in my life, and there really is no contest. The Bombcast is miles ahead of the rest.
Sad to see Idlethumbs in the art bumper, but not winning any awards. That was one of the best out there. Glad to see the winners and nominees. They're all great.
Nooo! My favorite underground podcast has become mainstream! Now I don't like it anymore...

I guess so. Otherwise it probably wouldn't have made such a splash across the web." Never herd of CastMedium, but I guess it matters? "
woot, totally diserving for most of them, i much rather would've seen Geekbox in there instead of 4Guys.... as at least the runner up for new podcast.
" woot, totally diserving for most of them, i much rather would've seen Geekbox in there instead of 4Guys.... as at least the runner up for new podcast. "I think that our thinking for 4 Guys, 1 Up rather than The Geekbox in particular is that 4G1UP has had a couple of really strong episodes and there's plenty of promise in the future with David promising some great industry guests in the future. The Geekbox, on the other hand, delivers a moderately inconsistent though often entertaining experience. It definitely serves the interest in talking about things they experience, but the scattershot nature of their discussion is a little bit detracting.
A Life Well Wasted has the most production quality, but I think that's more of a "Show". The Bombcast is by far the best one as far as weekly regular podcasts go. As long as the big V, Ryan, and Jeff come together to say things on a microphone I will be there. The personalities shine through voice, proving that their history in the enthusiast press was not just by chance or luck.
Now I'm an old man, and I remember the internets since N64.com, and Vinny I only seen and heard a couple of times back on the "other website" as a host of an impromptu gameshow and a few on-the-spots, but his personality "brought it" so to speak in a very short amount of time. I have to give Props to Brad for bursting through what I can only assume is a meyers-briggs introvertedness in recent podcasts. I know we all like Brad - maybe a little too much - but we all know he was the quieter one of the bunch. But lately he's been giving it and I'll concede thats to either just chance, comfort with the format, or by initiative on his part I can't tell.
I usually try to post only on things I believe in, but my props are totally genuine here - even though they are fueled by White Russians. You'll find no cheap knockoff props - I deliver only the finest quality built by the sweat and blood of the divine props. The Bombcast stands as-is as the finest there is, and even though there is NO monetary value to squeeze out of it, I give you this opinion for all its worth. Because I believe that V.B.J.R. enjoy creating that content just as much as I enjoy consuming it.
" I have no idea what this is but alright good work. I guess they're claim to fame is being mentioned on the podcasts they give awards to? That's a sneaky way to get noticed. "It's not nearly as insidious. We've been going for about a year now... and like most start-ups lacking enormous advertising budget or a corporate overlord, we're just now beginning to get some attention. Honestly, the amount of response we've been getting for these awards has been really reassuring and surprising for me. It's been the support and affirmation of guys like Mike Cruz at 1UP in specific, other podcast hosts, and our small but growing community that keeps us going.
