I has no problem listening to the bombcast from start to finish. I generally set aside the length of the podcast so I can do so uninterupted and I don't find it boring at all, I don't skip around, I pay attetion to it just fine and I don't fall asleep before it's over.
Bombcast day is probably my favorite day of the week.
Listening to the Bombcast is too much work sometimes (Blog post)
Yeah, 2 hours is a bit much for me. I usually just listen to it when I don't have anything better to do, but usually it's only on podcasts that everyone is talking about in the forums... like the night-vision goggles one.
I want to catch up, but I don't have hundreds of hours to do it. I'd probably somehow get sick of the GB crew after listening to that much of them.
The only trouble I have with it is that it's often too quiet, at least with a louder podcast you can turn it down.
Length is no problem for me, I'd listen to it 2 hours daily if they put it out.
- It's usually 2 hours long.
- Paying attention is harder than it would seem.
- Can't really play games while listening to it.
- Can't really do homework while listening to it.
- Always fall asleep before it's over.
I listen on a MP3 player, sometimes I do miss something, but I just rewind, no problem.
I can play action games just fine, as long as there isn't a story element that I don't want to miss out on.
I agree that shouldn't be possible for any human. Concentrate on your homework, then listen.
I've never had that problem. Listen to it when you're not tired.
I listen to it at work or while exercising. There aren't any podcasts I can just sit down and listen to since listening to people talk about games is actually quite boring.
I actually listened to one of their bombcasts last night while I was going to sleep, and then earlier today I listened to almost all of the PAX BC, very entertaining and I hardly spaced out. I guess it depends on what they're talking about.
The only time I listen to the Bombcast is while I play games.
Of course, if I have never played the game before, no Bombcast till the second playthrough.
I'm okay with the bombcast, maybe a little long though. I'll usually split it up into 2 sessions.
The Endurance Run is really hard to keep watching though. I only have so much time and there's so many hour long episodes. Lately I've been skipping around the grinding and fusing parts in the episodes, which is a lot recently. The ER was fun and I'll finish it, but for their next ER, I might have to skip out. Just takes up way too much time. With the bombcast I can do other things. ER is video-based...so yeah.
Quick looks are nice though. I like to eat while watching those lol. Or maybe have a window open on the side checkin little stuff like e-mail, etc.
I was still going through the archived shows when I started playing Prince of Persia (08), so for most of the game I just muted the audio and listened to bombcasts instead.
It was nice.
I just listen to it in one go, sometimes i play a game while listening to it, most of the time i´m just sitting doing stuff on the computer, like internet, IM and so on.
I listen to nine podcasts a week, all of them at least an hour and a half. It gets tough to find things to do while listening to them, usually I do it while checking all the game sites I need to or playing something like Plants VS Zombies that I don't need the sound for. I can't listen to them while playing console games because I hate turning off the sound, it is such a huge part of most games.
I just spread it out over the week to fill up what would otherwise be boring points in life (driving, walking to campus, etc, etc). I could see how sitting down and listening to it in one go could be difficult, and I definitely don't waste it on times when I need my concentration fully on something else.
if its too much work, i-.. you just fail. i even listen to old episodes, i cant get enough bombcast. you just ain't an O.G. fan, homie.
A few nights ago I feel asleep listening to the PAX bombcast. I was sad because I wasn't sure where I had left off.
" A few nights ago I feel asleep listening to the PAX bombcast. I was sad because I wasn't sure where I had left off. "I hate when that happens, and it always happens haha.
It's good to listen to when you are at your computer doing something other than playing games. Although it can be mixed with games like many have said, it just takes the right type of game. For me, it's thoughtless games like online FPS's or sports games.
"It's usually over-diagnosed, but maybe you need to see a doctor. You sound like you're legitimately ADHD and/or a prime demographic for Howard Stern. Seriously, if it's that big of a deal, listen to it when you're not playing games, doing homework, or exhausted. Problem fucking solved. Next caller, you're on the air.

Anyone else agree?"

I listen to the bombcast while at work, where it's quiet and I'm just cleaning stuff outdoors, so no. I prefer the longer casts as it makes my time at work go by that much faster :).
"I ride the train 2 hours round trip 3 days a week, I have nothing but time to listen to the Bombcast.

The podcast is a weekly gift from them to us. Why complain about this gift? Do you usually complain about gifts? This is not a game or a movie, or something you pay for.
I work in a kitchen at a day care and spend long periods of time by myself doing stuff that doesn't take a lot of brain power. I look forward to the GBC and the other podcasts/audio books to get me through my day.
I work in a resturant as a prep cook so I always have time to listen to the Bombcast and Im always attentive all the way through. As well as the other 12 podcasts im subscribed too. I dont seem to have too much trouble listening to it while playing games either, I play alot of Rpgs or have subtitles turned on during cutscenes so..I dunno ive never had a problem 2 hours seems like a good run-time to me.
I do sometimes fall asleep, but other than that... I don't have any of those problems. Listening isn't very difficult...
I'm a highway truckdriver... and I listen to the Bombcast so I DON'T fall asleep... You fall asleep during the Bombcast?! Then I guess the Bombcast bores you and you should stop listening to it... I, on the other hand, love it! It is candid, unedited, and real. Go listen to Jessica Chobot's 30 second videos if that's what you want.
I've worked out a plan each week for when I listen to it. Basically, play completely mindless games for achievements. That or edit pages on Giant Bomb (though I found myself somewhat distracted by both activities). Real secret is, listen to it multiple times while never fully paying attention to it. Eventually you pick up on everything.
