Same here. An option in the settings to change the background color as well as the unviewable drop down menu would help a lot.

@zacagawea: the way I get around the site getting stuck on the eye searing white layout is to "request desktop site" (I am on chrome on an ipad at the moment) and then my avatar button and the site skin switcher work in that mode.

@jrm: @sparky_buzzsaw: @zacagawea: I figured out how to get it to work on mobile. Sign out, switch the color to black and then log back in. Always works for me when it switches to white. I'm on an iPhone by the way.

while i think the black site is superior to watching videos (dark background) my chrom browser always outs me in the white site by default. i tend to forget the black site exists because this happens so much. also the black site hurts my eyes. yes i have defected to the light side! muhahahahah!!!!

@zacagawea: I forget to try it, too! I tend to get stuck in the light skin for about half a day before I remember what to do.

As much as I can't stand the white site on desktop, I just realized I use it all the time on mobile...

Kill me.

I figured out a way to turn on the black site, but I'm on Android with chrome, so I don't know if this will work on iOS/other browsers.

first you have to be in landscape mode. next you have to go into your browser settings and scroll down to "request desktop site". turn it on and the page will reload and the site should look slightly different (in portrait mode, it will look like a standard mobile site, which won't have the option to change the site skin, so stay in landscape). Click and hold on your avatar in the top right corner of the screen until the drop down menu comes up and stays when you let go. From there, you can change the site color to what you want and turn off desktop mode.

There should just be a clippy thing in the lower right corner at all times when using the white site saying something like "Hey, it looks like you're using the white site, click here to correct it!".

One of my absolute favorite things about this site is the option to switch between white/ black backgrounds. More websites should do this! (I'm looking at YOU Youtube...)

Personally the white background is Waaay too bright and hurts my eyes, while the Dark background is just so chill and soothing.

I just wanted to say "White is right". I am actually with you, being stuck on the white website sounds like hell. GiantBomb launched as a black site and it should forever remain that way!
