Notifications Broken & Double Posts

In the last eight hours, I haven't received any forum-related notifications. I have been replied to around ten times, but I only noticed that after checking the specific forum topics.

I have also been getting an odd issue when posting comments where it flashes red at the top of the screen, saying something failed, but then when I refresh, my comment had posted correctly. Did something happen in the last few hours?

Thanks for the help. Hopefully it's just an isolated issue. :)

Also, when I posted this, it just went to a 500 Internal Server Error page. Fortunately, I figured it might be a similar issue and looked in the forum for the thread, and here it is. How very odd.

Just double check that notifications are enabled in your settings, guys. I know that once in the past there has been a bug that dissabled notifications at the settings level for some users. It's probably not that, but it's always wise to double check before Rorie or someone can get back to you.

@mattyftm: Yeah, that was the first thing I checked. Settings are all fine. That and trying from multiple browsers and computers. Wherever I am, there aren't notifications.

Plus the other errors which I mentioned. Seems similar to when there have been server issues in the past. Notifications start acting up, posting errors, and 500 errors. Hopefully it's not widespread, but it has only been around 9 hours now.

I'm getting this issue, too, with my latest blog. The weird thing is that I can cross post to the main boards just fine (albeit with the error), but posting to a game specific page doesn't work, even when it looks like it does.

Also, the "red bar" thing. It says I didn't post, but then it does post, and this leads to double posts.

EDIT: If it looks like your post didn't go through, it probably did. Don't click the Post Reply button over and over again. I'm getting random 500 server errors and other assorted errors all over the place, but it almost never indicates an actual error.

Also, I can't tell if my replies to blog posts are not going through or if there's just some sort of delay on them showing up...

Are any of these glitches related to the front page forum feed being stuck about 11 hours in the past? What has St. Patrick's Day done to the site?

I'm not saying that the GB servers have a drinking problem, but...

I keep getting the whoops something happened and my post doesn't "post" but reload the page it actually did, has lead to a couple double posts

EDIT: And it did it again, I just reloaded the page instead of trying to post it again.

I'm seeing the same thing. Successful posts look like failures.

Yep on my android I'm getting the oops something happened but my post actually goes through. Not the worst thing, not sure about my notifications.

Yeah, plenty of things are not updating. If you go to a profile page, it isn't updating the "Your Activity" or "Your Update" feeds properly. The newest thing on there is from later on March 16th, even though I've definitely posted things since then.

Notifications are getting a complete rewrite as we speak, so they might have some funky behavior here and there. I'll try to see if we can kick the server, though. Sorry for the trouble.

Things should be getting back to normal now, I think.
