Cheap, Underrated Console Games?

So I recently discovered Enslaved: Odyssey to the west on amazon for only $10 that I was thinking of picking up a while ago but never did. I also What other slightly dated but underrated and low-priced games are out there?

Alpha Protocol.

The story and characters are cool as shit, but the weapons kinda handle like garbage, and the game is still slightly glitchy even after all the patches. As long as you put all your points into Stealth and Pistols and can enjoy a game with a good story, I recommend it.

Just Cause 2 is one of the best open world action games ever. You can get it brand new for 360 at about 20 bucks. It's currently $7.49 on Amazon for PC download.

i recommend all of these so far.

Not at all; I didn't play it. The story (the only thing connecting it to JC1) is the worst part of the game and kind of unnecessary anyway, as all of the island is open to you right out the gate and you can unlock all the gear by doing the (far more fun) side objectives.

no just cause 1 sucks and the story isnt related at all.

just cause 2 is amazing and we'll keep you busy just be prepared for horrible voice acting

That's incredible. I read the thread name and came to suggest Enslaved. I'd also try out the 200(8?) Prince of Persia reimagining.

You could probably pick up Singularity for cheaps. Totally worth it.

The Yakuza series is probably pretty cheap now. All are excellent.

Deus Ex Human Revolution is often being sold for really cheap these days.

Darksiders! A sequel comes out this year too so catch up.

@bartok: I don't ask this in a confrontational way.. I'm really just wondering. What about Rayman: Origins fits into the games as art argument? Other than on a surface level having a focus on art style.

Just Cause 2 is great. You can finish the story pretty quickly but the map is giant and there's tons to do. Getting all the trophies will take some time.

I agree with basically everybody. Darksiders is $10 at Best Buy right now just for the record.

Not sure if I've seen it recommend on here yet, but Shadows of the Damned. I saw it at Best Buy just today for 20 bucks brand new. Crazy story with a lot of humor.

Also, Singularity... interesting FPS, around 15. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, also about 15. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is I think 18 on Amazon. I will highly suggest those three.

Yeah, I'm with you. Just asked cause it seemed like a curious game to link to that whole debate.

I recently picked up Driver and Bulletstorm. Both are really great games!

Also Enslaved, Darksiders and Deus Ex are really cheap now!

Shadows of the Damned is inexpensive and really insane. Pretty fun game too.

crackdown is a pretty cool game. i bought it used when i bought my xbox 360. it even had a paper thing saying something about halo 3 beta. i thought that was hilarious, because the beta closed for a couple of years. i got rid of it.

your a special agent and you kill gang members taking control of the city again. there are upgrades that you can find from like jumping. the more you collect the higher you can jump.

Although most of these have already been said I will second them: Darksiders, Brutal Legend, Vanquish, Bayonetta (probably my personal favourite), Chronicles of Riddick, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts and Singularity was pretty cool too (although multiplayer achievements are dumb)

For one that I haven't seen mentioned, either of the Viva Pinata games. Viva Pinata or Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise that is, NOTParty Animals.

I'd tell you guys that underapperciated is not the same as underrated, but for once, people are halfway getting it (I'm seeing some games that got a bad reception in some capacity).

The original Darkness is really cheap. Anyone who hasn't played that should give it a go.

I know I'll probably get shit on for suggesting this, but I enjoyed Dark Sector. Payed under 5 bucks for it, too.

I got No More Heroes for the PS3 and it seems pretty good even just playing it without the Move. Shadows of the Damned is also a game with some cool stuff in it and it's cheap.

I guess I'll go against the grain and say Darksiders wasn't all that fun. I didnt like the characters, story, or the combat controls. Maybe with mouse aiming it would have been alright.

If you can find it cheap used, either Viva Pinata or Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise. I'm currently searching for the second game myself right now. The first one is amazing, and actually crazy stressful times. 
 
Also, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. MAXIMUM JET ENGINES GO

X-Men Origines: Wolverine. Yes the framerate is poo, yes I completed it in 6 sittings and it crashes during every one. But I like games where you stab dudes in the face, and this has the best and most varied dude-face-stabbing technology going. This game really doesn't deserve to be as fun as it is.

Except the final boss battle. That sucks dick.

Two worlds 2. As crazy as it sounds considering how terrible the first one was, the sequel is quite fun. Grabbed it off amazon for $15.99, totally worth it.

Metro 2032.

Valkyria Chronicles by far it's like 18$ or something in Amazon and that game is the definition of underrated with a great story and unique and fun gameplay , I cannot understand how people can stand behind Alpha Protocol ... that game was sooo broken and the gameplay really bad.
