According to Steve Harris' facebook blog he's gotten the CO-OP crew to join his new magazine. I'm getting really excited that he's gathering so much of the former talent that made EGM and 1up so great.

If Area 5 shut down I will be VERY PISSED OFF.

If, after asking for donations, they shut it down for non-financial reasons then I will be so fucking pissed off and disappointed. When Area 5 asked for donations they made it seem like they would only be able to sustain themselves for a couple more episodes so I gave what I could afford at the time (£10), so for them to join this and then either not carry on, or not give my donation money back would be a load of bollocks.

Area 5 isn't shutting down just like BitMob isn't. Video is their livelihood, and they're not going to stop because of this.

Wow, they got Dan Hsu and Damian Linn as well as the Co-op guys. This could be amazing.

Well, Steve Harris also mentioned that Dan Hsu and Damian Linn will continue to write for Bitmob as well. I'm guessing it will be somewhere along the same lines for Area 5.

Yeah I agree I hated when the original shut down but I do have to admit the quality had been sliding.

That's an interesting development! Hopefully CO-OP stays associated with Revision3 though. That's a fabulous outlet for them and Rev3 is awesome!

Hopefully its just the guys from Area5 doing content for Dan Hsu now too as well as what they are doing for Revision3.

Sounds like EGM is assembling a whole team of popular guys.

The shipping costs would be atrocious, but I don't see why they wouldn't.

Looks like everyone who previously worked at 1up/EGM is re-joining it.

Someone's gotta rope John Davidson into this, just for the heck of it.

I like my magazines, but I'm not a newsstand buying kind of guy, I subscribe. I do miss my EGM. I went back to Gameinformer when EGM lost its pressing. I might pick up a couple of copies of the new EGM at the newsstand and then subscribe.

I hope that the new EGM from day one is avalable in the UK, this sounds like the best thing ever. If only they printed up some of the Giant Bomb content then it would the best thing in existence!
