I went to the first gig he did this and found it very funny. I'm sure not everyone will like it but for those who do, enjoy :)

Yup, it works. He did this routine in that video game show Charlie Brooker tried to get started.

@Finstern: I thought this video was going to be all of that section. I can't stand Charlie Brooker so I didn't know it had been on there.

@Finstern: This is it I guess. Not really the same as seeing it live and it still misses a massive chunk of that section.

I saw him live recently, and this was part of his act. About half of the crowd found it hilarious, and the other half (the older half) were confused. Fantastic gig though.

Pretty funny but I always find some supposed "justifications" of comedians talking about games to be weird. Who argues that games like Rock Band need to have songs unlocked in order cos it's in any way similar to the music industry?? Like, what? hah

@anterline: Frankie Boyle is a dick.

I'm not offended by his insults it's just that he relies on them to be funny, like Russell Brand relies on being a fucking girl.

We all know his a dick, but a lot of people like me find him funny.

@anterline: The BBC needs to stop putting those fake laughs on every single comedy they show. It sounds terrible and it distracts from what's going on in the program.

Agreed, but the idea is that it makes the clip sound funnier than it really is. Its not just the BBC though, far from it.

Always loved him. This just reinforces the idea that the mainstream isn't interested in dieing in games or being forced to unlock stuff. I'm not 100% on board with this (in the sense that it's really not that hard to learn), but I think in general it's better to make a game easier. To not rely on stereotypical fail states. I think we are a ways away from that though. Heavy Rain and Portal for me are good examples of the ideal game in this sense.

I have found him quite funny and likeable in the past when he was on QI and stuff, but because of this I legitimately love him.
Also, it's so awesome that this was linked on Kotaku.

I've been saying the exact same thing for ages! It would probably help if bbc comedies were actually funny as well though.

@CookieMonster: It would help immensely if they did away with BBC3 altogether. I've yet to find anyone who finds Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps funny.

@anterline: @CookieMonster: Channel 4 doesn't have these stupid fake laughs for example check out Peep Show or Pete vs Life. The BBC are using the same formula that they have always used and they need to wake up and see that it isn't needed anymore.

I swear they used the same fake laugh in that as they did in the Good Life 35 YEARS AGO!!!

They haven't shown two pints on BBC Three for ages. And BBC3 actually shows some half decent stuff some of the time. It's better than most of the crap TV channels around anyway.
