If you don't know what I mean, go to Metacritic and look at the user comments with less than 5/10 for a great game and read how they don't have any good points. I like to read them but sometimes I get frustrated because they are, well, stupid. One time I read a bad review for Team Fortress 2 because the game wouldn't run on their computer.
Anyway, do you like to read unjustified negative reviews?
Do you like to read unjustified negative reviews?
"No, not really, usually because they're unjustified :P. "
You must not like Yahtzee, then. Of course, he's more of a gaming personality then a reviewer.
I love reading comments with fanboys freaking out about a low score, when it's like a 9/10 or something. Crappy reviews not so much.
Yea, as of recently, he's been pretty crap. Wet, Wii Sports Resort, Scribblenauts a bit, the E3 video.
If you want unjustified reviews look no further than Best Buy (dot) com. They allow reviews before a product is even out, and usually you get a review of what console it's on by some fanboy, and it's not even about the game.
Eh, he can still deliver some, admittedly cheap, laughs, but he is definately a shadow of his former self. I personally loved his Wolfenstein review, though.
Came off as a bit weird to me, especially in the moments when it seemed like he broke from limerick.
so sick and tired of good reviews. we need more reviess like the 3 stars for brutal legend and the 1 star for lucidity cuz i thought star wars was better.
Yeah, but when he got it right, it worked very well.
Doesn't really matter anyway. I'd say that around the Spore review, he lost the charm he had.
" @The_jewish_lord said:" nothin wrong with negative reviews "Sometimes wrong if there's no reason for it to be negative. If there's no reason then it's just a rant. "
ignore rants then problem solved.
"They usually make me depressed knowing there's actually people like that out there... "why>?
Ugh, could you please stop spamming the threads? This is getting ridiculous. When you respond to a topic, try to use more then one line and look at all the comments before you before you go gung-ho.
With that out of the way, some people don't like how people are willing to write off great games because of one little thing they don't like. It's fine for the average internet goer, but when it's your job you are expected to be professional and look at the game as a whole and judge it as such.
I'd say that around the Spore review...Hold on? Spore? Then.....the prophecy....it has come true!!!
I remember watching that parody when Yahtzee didn't make the video that week. It's a great parody but it's a shame that other people think they can do the same. Watch any other Zero Punctuation parody on YouTube and you'll see what I mean." @General_D23 said:

*turns on recorder*....Note to self: if I ever do video reviews, do NOT rip off Yahtzee. *stops recording* *starts recording again* Visually. *stops recording*
Sometimes for laughs, but otherwise no. Yahtzee's initial charm has worn off, and now the majority of his negative rants involve a lot of grasping, nitpicking and unsound logic, which stopped being funny a while ago.
The only thing you need to read from metacritic is the average. Highs and lows changes this average and all the highs and low reviews are valid. It's the average that's the most important, not any individual site.
But judging a game based solely off a score is a big problem. My advice to people would be to at least read the highest, one in the middle, and the lowest. Compare all of them and then let the reviews influence your purchasing decision.
I find the comments funnier, mostly because of pathetic fanboys. Note this video:
I love the disclaimer that pops up before the video. Gotta love Sessler. And that's not even about a negative review.
" @Video_Game_King said:If you don't like looking at turds, then I don't recommend you go to Hot Deals for Cold Days - Rate My Poo" @Claude: We all do, but not all of us like looking at turds :P. "I always look at turds. You find out a lot that way. Can I still see the corn? Are there worms? Is it loose or solid? Even diarrhea plays a part, so many questions. "
Just saying is all.
Sometimes, it can just be annoying to read somebody's crappy review that has no good point to it. But other times, yes it can be fun.
It depends on if it is funny. I find some of Yahtzee and Seanbaby's reviews funny. If they exaggerate for the sake of comedy I can support that, but if it's just poorly reasoned mutterings with an elitist opinion, then I'll pass.
