Mine is Kingdom Hearts...what is yours?
Favorite Franchise last generation
Interest in franchises for me sorta come and go, I get really into something for a while and then move on. I don't think I could just pick one series from any generation.
I did really like those Prince of Persia games I guess, Jak & Daxter were really cool with just lots of stuff and both of those Maximo games were great in their own ways.

though for a single game the first Metroid Prime is the best game of last generation.
Metroid Prime was pretty damn good.
Hmm. Good question. I guess technically loved the re series and re4 was such a great game that it made me love it even more. Um I actually really got attached to the splinter cell games. Although a never played chaos theory (but I have it on steam now thanks to sale). Nothin else jumps to mind. Maybe devil may cry?
Probably still Resident Evil. RE4 (despite my grievances, I still admit that it's a fantastic game), the REmake, RE0, the first Outbreak--which is one of my favourite RE games in fact--Dead Aim wasn't so bad, and Veronica X was also still OK.
After RE, it would have been MGS. I loved me a lot of MGS2 & MGS3 back in those days.
Definitely Kingdom Hearts I love that series. I'm almost pushed to buy a 3DS for Dream,Drop,Distance and I was really bummed when those rumors of a collection were shot down. The first two games were great and I liked all the spin offs in some way or another. I want a Kingdom Hearts 3 already especially after what Birth By Sleep suggests.
I'd say Persona, but even as sub-series of Shin Megami Tensei, it goes further back than the last generation. Granted, Persona "3" and beyond is practically its own thing.

@Jay444111 Darkcloud was good in theory, and even now I kinda want to play dark cloud 2 and play with the timestream. Or take some pictures and invent some crap. But actualy playing the game was not fun.
Speak for yourself, brah. I actually started playing both games again this year, and found that they're still good fun. There could serve to be less floors per dungeon (kind of a normal complaint I have for random dungeon games), but other than that, they hold up pretty well. Messing with those robot parts is still more fun than it ought be.
I still want to see a proper sequel to Dark Cloud 2, but I dunno if that can happen anymore. Even though Level-5 is doing alright.
The only one to look forward too has been KH honestly. Back in the day of the PS1, the previous generation, there were a lot of good platformers to look forward to and old FF games when they were, you know, FRIGGING EPIC. Now games are made with just too little content and there are few sequels to look forward to for any reason other than everyone else is playing them.

I have to agree. The funny thing is that for years I thought KH would be terrible, that it was for kids. I went to buy a game one night, I asked the clerk for a "Good PS2 RPG" and he immediately said "Kingdom Hearts". I bought it immediately and haven't regretted that decision. I do regret waiting as long as I did.(I barely had enough time to finish before KH2 launched) Good memories.

Metroid Prime was the best last generation, in my opinion anyway (by the way does IMO stand for In my opinion?)
Just because I want to see another one...
Why Capcom? Why didn't you iterate? Oh champions of endless iteration? Why? Just do another one with the same basic story. A Roman warhero disgraced, thrown into the arena. Rising through the ranks in brutal gladitorial battle. Inciting a slave riot. Meeting a tragic end, and glory, for freedom.
Instant classic.

@Seppli: Indeed, such a fantastic game. At this point I'd be happy if they would just at least release a digital HD version or something.
Ugh - I'd rather not be able to play it again. Killed two dualshock pads playing it back in the day. And never finished it because of that. I kinda pushed a shoulderbutton too hard in that game, it always got stuck.
Then again - bring it on! Totally worth the 60 bucks for a new gamepad!
@Seppli: That game's combat is brilliant. I could've done without the stealth sections though.
There were some pretty good gladiator games last generation, I think my favorite would be Gladius. I've always thought this was a great setting for games but I'm struggling to think of any for current consoles.
