"Go to church instead"

If you select a date on any of GB's videos that puts you below 18 age range this notice appears:

"You're too young to watch the filth in this video. Go to church instead"

Let's discuss how mind-numbingly idiotic, insulting and inappropriate that is:

• it makes a false dichotomy that opposite of filth is religion, NOT that religion is filth and always has been throughout the history which is what all the evidence tells us. Let's just review what religion does today:

-killing children because they are "witches"

-constant violence through out the world because faith(baseless assertion without support of reason and evidence) is made up to be a virtue instead of a vice that needs to be extinguished, like we try to extinguish illiteracy

-anti-science superstition by mainstream religion becoming a world health problem

-systemic coverup of worldwide child rape and predilection of youth pastors towards child abuse(every month 4-5 are added)

etc.etc.you probably know all of this already if you ever payed the slightest attention to the world around you

• pretending that we don't know through science exactly why and how humans created gods/religions.

• pretending that morality is coupled to religion. Morality is derived from reasoning and social interaction(like with all other mammals and primates), it is not derived from bizarre mores of primitive ignorant men who lived in pre-scientific era when magic was "real".

Or to quote Arthur C.Clarke-

"The greatest tragedy in mankind's entire history may be the hijacking of morality by religion."

• craven attempt to coddle and perpetuate memes which rest on demonstrable falsehoods

For fuck sake, does anyone in GiantBomb staff think that it would be good for a child to go to church who would be significantly exposed to:

-rape

-dogmatic indoctrination with anti-scientific nonsense divorced from reality

-death due to tax exemption status of churches so faith-healing deaths and day-care deaths are likely due the state not applying the same standards, regulations and inspections which applies to non-religious day-cares.

Anyone can tell that the error message is sarcastic as they would not seriously refer to their own content as "filth." Being established as a facetious message, if you could say it's making any comment on religion at all, it could only be derisive. However, I do commend you for making a topic that at least has the potential to generate discussion. It contrasts quite nicely with the "omg [blank] sucks! everyone who likes it is stupid" topics.

However, there is a high volume of sarcastic and humorous content on the site. Therefore, the most charitable interpretation should be that it is a joke or a least a way to lighten up the concept of the "age gate". Since your fellow forum posters agree with my claim about the humorous nature of the "age gate" message, while you do not, they have deemed you (either validly or invalidly) a "troll".
