Have you Spent a year playing a game.

I recently decided that I would look into how much time I have put into a game I have played since the 5th grade and that game is Diablo 2 and to my astonishment I am apparoch the 8500th hour of playtime... this is crazy to me because I am wondering how the hell I could have sat down that long why would anyone let me do this to myself.. though looking it.. I guess 1 year of playing time of 7 years isn't much.

Not to that extent, but I've spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours with both Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

Well, I've played GTA IV since I bought it in 2008.

No, not a year.  I think all my time spent in Warcraft's Azeroth added up to around 4 or 5 months. 
 
I don't play that game any more. ;-)

I wouldn't say 1 year of total play time in the last 7 years "isn't much". 
 
If you think about it, you've probably spent about 20% of the time you've been awake in the last 7 years playing one game. 
 
STAY AWAY FROM ME

Wow, I gotta admit: I probably haven't put half as many hours in ALL games I ever played, and I played my first video games in 1991. O_o

10 years of starcraft, CS and most half life mods consistently since their release. ff11 for 2 or so before i quit, UO for more years than i can remember(i think it was 5 or 6). WOW a few years before they made it total suckage.  blah few more others too.  some games just have enough to keep you playing. not sure how you did 8500 on diablo 2...but to each their own.

That's a ridiculous amount of time. Even with the games I played religiously as a kid I didn't come close to that play time.

I have spent countless hours playing Seven Kingdoms: Ancient Adversaries's random maps. The hours probably amount to an year, year and half. That's why it my second favourite game of ALL TIME!

I was playing Fallout 3 from when I got it at christmas till 3 months ago, I played WoW for 2 years but that doesn't really count I guess.

I've been playing games for about 17 year and I doubt my play time collectively has added up to one year.  That's just a ridiculous number for one game.

I can't think of a game I'd want to play more than the duration of the campaign.

I have never played a game enough for my gametime to accumulate into an actual year of playing.  That's just stupid.

Some people here are talking about game time, and some aren't. People should know that.

World of Warcraft

A little under 8400 hours put into World of Warcraft since mid-2005. That's about a year of playing.

The pro evolution soccer games perhaps. They are for the most part quite similar games so you could say i've probably played the core gameplay of that game for over a year, but not the same disc, no.

WoW for 4 years. I dont want to know how many hours.

World of Warcraft.

It's not totaled, but I am still playing Civ 3 almost every night.   
 
My computer can't run Civ 4...

Eh, if I could somehow bring up playtime for Super Smash Bros. Melee and Halo 2 back in the day, I'm sure I'd be somewhere close to a year.
 
Same goes for my other 2 friends we were kinda hooked. All to the album Believe by Disturbed I'm sure I've listened to that album for at least half a year.

From my calculations using my bungie.net record, I think I've spent about 2000 hours playing Halo 3 multiplayer, and I've definitely played that game much more than any other. Amassing an actual year of gametime in anything would be pretty ridiculous :| (even moreso than spending 2000 hours on Halo 3)

I can see myself putting that much time into Morrowind, Rome: Total War, and Mount&Blade combined over a period of a decade or so.

90 hrs of DA:O + expansion is my max

There's no way I've come anywhere close to that. The most time I've ever put into a single game was probably StarCraft. I'd guess I accumulated more than a week in gametime in that, but I can't think of anything else that comes close.

I did play F-Zero GX for more than a year some time ago, but that was when I used to play it competitively.

2-3 years in hours? I think it's about time you got 'bored' then. "

I think I have about 11 days clocked in at Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2 combined, so not even close.

My highest game (according to GB) is NHL 10, I think I have more time on cod4 though. 

I played about 65 days worth of Raven Shield over a three year period.

Final fantasy's 7 through 10 as well as Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Those are some of my favorite games which isn't surprising.

I think I spent over 1000 hours playing Monster Hunter games.

My overall gaming time is probably over 5000 hours but I can´t really tell lol

I never play games over one hundred hours mostly. I beat the game, and then stop playing. The most I think I've had so far is 95 hours with Trackmania Nations Forever.

I played Guild Wars for around 2300 hours before I quit, which was shortly before the second expansion.

Runescape.  
There was a time a few years ago when I was a wee lad, and wee lads never have enough money to purchase the amount of games he can today. 
So, for everyday of 2003, I played Runescape from the start of September, till I grew out of it the next October.  
I can't go back to it.

Yes, I have three real time years charted on a save of Football Manager 2007. Though I may not have actively played it at all times, just having it open on my PC.
 
So probably about 2 yearsish of actual play.

Counter strike since release and the source from release right up until aboiut 2 years ago when i got my ps3 (and eventually 360) and realised clan matches and mixes every day mixed in with 7 hours of public servers on one game was a huuuuuuge waste of my time (loved every minute while doing it though)

I've never spend a year's worth of time playing a game (thats crazy!), but I did play Elder Scrolls: Oblivion regularly for well over a year.

8500 hours is crazy! I MAY have spent that long playing video games total, but thats over 18 years of gaming, starting when i was 4.

Ninja Gaiden Black is easily top of my list. I would estimate my time on that game is well into 5000+ hours.
