Don't know what game your talking about, but a lot of games do that. For example, Left 4 Dead 1 had a GOTY edition, but I don't think that was GOTY on any site in 2008.
i am guessing that you are talking about batman? and there is no one game of the year, there is no comity deciding on what game can have a GOTY version. why does it upset you?

Oh, well my bad then. But the point of the post is that a game doesn't need to be a unanimous GOTY to get a GOTY edition. Its just something publishers do to put their game back on shelves again, usually with any added content on disc.

I heard that game was good but buggy especially when it came to walking up the ladders, can no game make walking up ladders look and feel right?
Still dunno what game has already come out with a Game of the Year edition.
That said, UC2 was definitely not my pick for GOTY. Batman, Assassin's Creed II, and for me, Beatles Rock Band all top out UC2 from last year, and Demon's Souls, Dragon Age, and MW2 have also won it elsewhere. (Beatles didn't, though, which is sad.)
They don't give a damn if it got game of the year from anyone, if they want to make a GOTY edition they're going to. I don't know who "they" is in this case, but yeah...
@Lambert: whatever you were trying to post this under, ended up in General discussion. I'm assuming it's Batman and if so...you are correct. Of course most games are someones GOTY.
lol i thought u were reacting to my comment... i like gears better than uncharted lol mostly cus i like the multi more than UC2s but the single is def where its at for uncharted
