when done right, marketing can be a formidable weapon.
Seldom when playing a game do I get truly overwhelmed with the adrenaline rush that so many promise and so few deliver. Making a player empathise with the events that lay before them on screen is a complicated and tactile affair. Too often I find myself a mere tourist in games that, although brilliant, fail to fully communicate the gravity of the events unfolding and the emotional consequence on you as the player or even the damn character you are in control of. However I can say with utmost sincerity that, having seen the new Conviction trailer, I am fucking stoked for that game.If the completed product can retain any level of this intensity then, hot damn, we have a winner.
My university animation project has been completed
and will be posted on this very blog in a few days
Which means I am free once more to stay up late (later) playing videogames and writing blogs. One of those games is World Of Warcraft. I remain a deep cynic, my commitment to the game fluctuates between bursts of enthusiasm and disparaging despair. The game has its faults and it has its accomplishments. Which of them remains in focus continues to be a matter of perspective. Sometimes one must travel a long way to acquire any.I reached the level cap for the Bad Company 2 beta, level 11, and having unlocked all the available weapons my mission has been firmly completed until the games official release. Bad Company 2 is a frantic mess to play, an environment in which I apparently flourish, but there are only so many times one can play the same level.
I would like to forward a song that, unbelievably, has been released for free. This pricing is appropriate because this song needs to be heard. It's pretty fantastic. Download it here.
