Threads about videogames for once. I think the Off-topic board should be shut down. I am so sick of see threads about: movies, anime, news, politics, relationships, gizmos, and random other crap. There are two reasons I'm getting really tired of this and they are. 1. We actually have whole other sites for all of those things expect relationships I guess. Get Adam Corrola and DR Drew on that site. 2. This is actually a video game website like it or not. Can we have threads that at least tangentially videogame related please. I would actually love to have actual conversations about videogames on this site for once.

No you're not awesome, and you still wouldn't be if you happened to use your eyes and read one of the threads about video games, instead of snarkily exaggerating to make a worn out point.
If you click the preferences button (the button with the rainbow icon at the top of the forums) you can disable the off-topic forum from appearing in the newest topics feed. Problem solved. You don't get off topic posts bothering you, and people who like off topic posts can still see and post in them. Everyone is happy.

The front page shows your favourite forums. If you haven't got any favourite forums, it'll show all boards including off topic. Just add some boards to your favourites, and off-topic will no longer appear there.
Well, just a few days ago I favourited a few forums for the first time and now I only get those forums popping up on the front page for me. Do that is my advice.
I really don't get the big deal with this. It's a community forum isn't it? Where people get to know each other better and talk with one another. There is so much about this site that is about games that as long as all those areas stay, as long as the posts about games out weigh those of other issues I don't see the harm in there being some off-topic posts every now and again. Especially since they are in the off-topic section...
Also, I love the off-topic section. It's a section to discuss random shit with other users with similar interests (video games) that may not be members of another Whiskey site. If you don't like the off-topic forum, disable it from being on the front page and don't visit it in the boards.

I think one of the big problems is that the stuff about games ends up all about fanboys hating and just general bad opinions. No one wants to talk about video games, people want to say 'This game sucks!' and then when someone asks why, they act like because it's an opinion, it's infallible.
