What would it be?
This is easy for me because there is only one game coming out this year that I want.
Assassin's Creed 3.
Final Fantasy XIII-2. Seriously. The 75 hours I played of that game I absolutely adored. Its still standing tall as my current front runner for GOTY. Loved the monster collecting and the story was great and it has what I now consider the BEST Final Fantasy villain of all time Caius Ballad. He was brilliantly portrayed by Liam O Brien and I can't wait until they actually release the rest of the single player episodes. Platniumed the game as well. Seriously did everything the game had to offer.
Atelier Meruru.
I can just steal a copy of every other game coming out from friends, but I'm fairly sure I'll be one of the only people getting Meruru. And if someone like @Catolf happened to get it, then my pick would be Record of Agarest War 2, cause I -know- she's not getting that one. :P
YES! It was just so good. The characters, he story, the gameplay, everything was amazing. Not perfect, but hey, maybe in Binary Domain 2.@MikeGosot said:
Also, heads-up for Binary Domain and Asura's Wrath. These games are awesome.Binary Domain is one of the best games I've played in a while, so amazing.

I just recently completed Binary Domain. It's alright, a far cry from anything 'amazing' I'd say. Despite having a lot of anticipation for it, I now find it hard to understand why so many people seemingly love this thing. Make no mistake, I think it's a good game, but nothing outstanding or anything. Is all the praise primarily rooted within the characters?
Well, i loved everything, seriously. The characters are a great part of why i fucking love this game, and i could go on and on about everything that this game has done RIGHT, but i need to sleep now.@Animasta said:

Including the superfluous squad mechanics, over-extended boss battles, poor frame-rate and how the story quickly implodes nearing the end?
...Yes.@MikeGosot said:

Fair enough. Now sleep. I could do with some myself... weird timing that I've just finished rewatching Christopher Nolan's Insomnia and it's hit 6am :o
Depends on if Persona 4 The Golden comes out this year in the states or not, cause that would easily be the only game I would play if I had to choose. Other than that it's kind of hard to choose. Mass Effect 3 would be a simple choice cause I know what it is and liked it, I could spend a lot of time in Diablo 3 but then again maybe I won't, Halo 4 could be awesome, and there are too many others to list. So, I'll just stick with Persona 4 The Golden assuming it comes out this year.

well, the framerate wasn't that bad (it never bothered me) and I don't think the story implodes nearing the end (I felt the end was justified enough and it was hella entertaining) but sometimes you just love a game that isn't the greatest, but it's got something about it that just makes it amazing. Alpha Protocol was this for me, as was Nier

The ending just didn't make a lot of sense to me. And I know that there are alternate endings and such, but the one I got:
I'm not one to shrug at the idea of loving a game that's definitely out of the ordinary; Deadly Premonition hit the #3 spot on my 2010 GOTY list. But it's very clear as to why people can bow down at such a game. Binary Domain for me comes across as being largely generic; some great characters at least, but nothing that would stand out in a ''best new character of the year'' award. Alpha Protocol is another I can easily see the appeal; there's a lot I personally like about that game as well, despite its vast amount of problems. Binary Domain for me feels like it's really stretching it, though.
Also: irrelevant, but holy christ, Troy Baker and Laura Bailey like to duo up in damn well everything! You'd think they were joined at the hip or they had some sort of contract where they have to star in a game together once per month. But man, Troy Baker was pretty great in this all the same. When it all comes to a head discovering about the hybrids and then on, Baker gives a great performance as he clashes with Dan.
EDIT: Actually, Travis Willingham done a surprisingly good job as Dan too. I was all ready to write Dan off as some rent-a-Shepard marine, and I was pleasantly surprised with how much he grown on me.
