Nice to meet you, too. This website is like the U.S.A. of gaming websites. Everybody else sucks compared to us. We are the safe haven for real gamers, and all the console war-hungry fanboys can go to Gamespot, which actually fuels these wars with the articles they write. We are the city upon the hill. Not to mention we have the best video game journalists around. Giantbomb isn't controlled by its ads, and it does not bend to outside pressure. We call it like it is here, and we like it like that. No Kane and Lynch shenanigans happening here. Also, everything here is done with a sense of humor, so the site has a much more informal and "friendly" atmosphere than the other serious sites. This does not reduce the quality of the content here; it actually flushes it out. Also, this community is second to none, and being part of it is a joy. But I have to say guys, this MW2 bullshit has gone on far enough. How many MW2 threads can be made in a day? Chill out, it's not perfect, and it's more of an expansion anyways. This was way longer than it should have been for a mere welcome, but there you have it. Have a good time, and hope to see you in the forums. The more social links, the better.

Yeah, I heard there were insane amounts of people waiting in line to get that game at midnight. Games that are hyped this much usually get midnight releases like this. Yes, shooting games are really popular because they are easier to play than other genres, like fighting games. A beginner can actually do something in a shooting game no matter how bad they are (unless you absolutely suck), but a beginner in say, a fighting game will be utterly destroyed by someone who knows what they're doing.

I know what you mean. I usually don't mind it much, but games like MW2 are a bit too realistic for me. I like some fantasy elements in my games to separate them from reality. When a game is too realistic, it kind of defeats the purpose for me.
