Is local multiplayer still important?

Local multiplayer is the best multiplayer.

Playing offline co-op with a friend is probably my favourite type of multiplayer.

Local multiplayer is important as fuck. If 2 people live together and want to play together, they shouldn't have to buy another X-Box. It's also the only way for me to ever play games with people who own PS3s. It's also the only way to have a good tournament. Also, playing with someone in the same room is a billion times better than using some shitty mic.
