Yeah, my band Gatling's song "Absolute" is coming to the Rock Band Network! The song will be available through the xbox.com marketplace in 3 days, and officially published to the in-game store on Thursday, 3/1. I'm so stoked!! If any of you have the game, check it out. Even if you don't have the game, check out the chart via the link above!

What do you guys think?

And that's my blog post.

P.S. If you could give us a like on Facebook I'd really appreciate it!

 Just for reference.
Anyway, congratulations dude, it's a really good song. Too bad i don't play rhythm games, but it's pretty cool to be featured on Rock Band 3. Congrats once again.

One buy right here. Sounds good!

Watched about two minutes of it before my internet crapped out, but that bass chart is sick! The chart looks really nice in general, but it's a bass standout for sure. Congrats on getting onto RBN!

#7 Posted by Half_Life (61 posts) -

Thanks a lot everybody!!

#8 Posted by Half_Life (61 posts) -

Oh, and this song is getting a chart in a few weeks!

@Mr_Skeleton: Thanks! And how do you embed the videos like that? ... I should really learn how..... lol
#11 Posted by RTSlord (1201 posts) -

dang, thats a pretty good song. congrats duder!

#12 Posted by TheMustacheHero (6655 posts) -

So which are you? Singer? Drummer?

#13 Posted by Half_Life (61 posts) -

On this song, drummer, and thanks RTSlord!

#14 Posted by Mr_Skeleton (5144 posts) -

@Half_Life: In the youtube page of the video the is a "share" button you click on it, after that a link will appear and under it an "embed" button. Copy the text. Now on the text editor of GB there is a "video" button, click and paste the text in the new window and that's it. :)

congrats duder!

So, will this be like other RBN songs where pro mode maps notes all goofy? Actually I was wondering if there was any reason why that is, if you had any insight on that.

That drum chart looks fun, but I would be sad if all the tom parts were mapped to the cymbals as they are in all my other RBN songs.

Anyway cool song and congrats on having it in a fucking video game dude. That's cool shit.

#17 Posted by Alex (2124 posts) -

@wolf_blitzer85: Once RBN 2.0 came out, that stopped happening. It was an issue with charters not knowing to separate out the notes between cymbals/drums.

As to the original poster, I will buy your song.

@Alex: Thanks dude! I guess it's been a while since I bought an RBN song. This one is a definite!

#19 Posted by Yamoto (111 posts) -

Why is the singer so young he sounds about 14-16

but what do i know

#20 Posted by amomjc (977 posts) -

Congratulations man, awesome experience I am sure to see your song promoted like this. Great song and if I owned RB3 I would totally pick this one up.

#21 Posted by 71Ranchero (2765 posts) -

You guys sound like your inspired by Porcupine Tree. Great music, I would get those if I had Rock Band =)

Your vocalist is kinda not my thing, but the rest of it's okay. Good drum charting.

#23 Posted by the_OFFICIAL_jAPanese_teaBAG (4308 posts) -

both of those songs you posted are so great!  The guitar part looks really fun to play and i wish i owned RB3...

#24 Posted by Redbullet685 (6044 posts) -

Sounds pretty good, but I can't say I like the vocalist that much.

#25 Edited by Rudeboy217 (1769 posts) -

Awesome, duder. If I was still into buying Rock Band songs I would have totally bought this.

#26 Posted by Half_Life (61 posts) -

That's because we are 16 ;) And thanks to everyone who replied!!

#27 Posted by Winger (151 posts) -

Can't say I like the music but congratulations, i'm happy for you.

My indifference has nothing to do with the quality of it, just the genre.

Holy shit, that was really good. Not the most amazing thing I've ever heard, but I really like listening to it and I really like the bass. Too much music nowadays drowns out the bass to where you can't hear it at all, so I'm glad someone's leaving it where I can make it out without listening really hard. Not a big fan of your singer, but it matches the song's sound and he's not bad.

About buying it - yeah, I don't have Rock Band 3 and don't plan to. Sorry, won't buy a game I have no interest in for one song. But is your music on iTunes or something?

EDIT: Just Googled for a Myspace. A Death Metal band has the same name; maybe consider a different one?
#29 Posted by Half_Life (61 posts) -

The death metal band broke up, so we have the sole name now! And I agree with you about the bass, that's one thing we really try to do in each song is have the bass be just as creative and interesting as all the other instruments.

But yeah, you can download our EP for free here: http://www.last.fm/music/Gatling/Absolute+EP

#30 Posted by MentalDisruption (1632 posts) -

Can't say that it's my type of music, but it you guys are good. Congrats!

#31 Posted by Half_Life (61 posts) -

Thanks man!!

#32 Posted by PieGuy (313 posts) -

Well done to you!

#33 Posted by CaptainCharisma (339 posts) -

Whoa, I'm really impressed. I'm definitely buying it when its released.

#34 Posted by Half_Life (61 posts) -

Thank you PieGuy and CaptainCharisma!

#35 Posted by 49th (2755 posts) -

Do you get paid when people buy the song? Either way that is pretty awesome.

#36 Posted by Tim_the_Corsair (3065 posts) -

That's awesome, congrats duder.

I'd buy it if RBN worked in Australia.

#37 Posted by Claude (16254 posts) -

@Half_Life: When it comes out. You need to challenge Alex with the drums or something. I've never played Rock Band, so I don't know how that works.

#38 Posted by DAFTPUNK (1213 posts) -
@Half_Life: very very good!
#39 Posted by Half_Life (61 posts) -

Thanks everybody! And haha, I would gladly challenge Alex to a drum battle (that also happens to be my name). I would probably lose, but hey.

#40 Posted by Sumbog (484 posts) -

Can you play your song on expert?

#41 Posted by FormulaDeuce (237 posts) -

Congrats duder! Been a while since I last played, but seeing this is convincing me to finally pick up RB3.

#42 Posted by iam3green (14390 posts) -

congrats it sounds awesome.

#43 Posted by Half_Life (61 posts) -

Thanks everyone! And I like to think I could beat in on expert, when it comes out maybe we'll make a video if ourselves playing it

#44 Posted by Masha2932 (1241 posts) -

Just wondering, have you played your own song in the game and did you get a perfect score?

#45 Posted by Half_Life (61 posts) -

It's not actually in-game yet, so no.... though I can always hope I would get a perfect score!

#46 Posted by Ravenlight (8040 posts) -

Sounds good, do have a bandcamp page or something else we can check out?

#47 Posted by nick_verissimo (1385 posts) -

@Half_Life: Hey man, I just checked out your myspace page and as a fellow Ontarion I have no choice but to support you guys. Do you have an EP or anything for the stuff your currently supporting coming out soon?

#48 Posted by zameer (606 posts) -

Always nice to see someone here get a nice break. CONGRATS DUDER!

#49 Posted by Half_Life (61 posts) -

Ravenlight: We have Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gatling/48688855226) and Myspace (myspace.com/gatlingonline). We use the Facebook page a lot more though. Thanks for checking us out!

nick_verissimo: Ontario, woot! Yep, we have an EP up for free download on last.fm (http://www.last.fm/music/Gatling/Absolute+EP) with a full length coming out in early-mid 2012!

 zameer: Thank you!!

The song's ok, though I don't really dig the vocals that much. Don't let it get to you though, I listen mostly to heavy metal music so that's probably the main reason.
