In hindsight.... knowing it's quality or worth to you now. What game would you gladly have paid $150 for.
Me.... Elder Scrolls Oblivion. 300 hours or more and enjoyable to replay. Easily worth $150.
I was going to make this $200 but it seems too high a breaking point though i am sure Starfcraft 2 woulda sold some copies for that much.
And before anyone feels the need to talk about how they would not know how good it is till they bought it and would not buy it at that price... sure i get ya... but this is fantasy what it stuff so there ya go.
Name an existing game you'd drop $150 on.
Would drop 150 on Fallout 3, Oblivion, and at this point, looking back on it, Halo 3.
EDIT: I guess I really like my commas.
Probably the Dead Space™ ULTRA LIMITED EDITION.
" Would drop 150 on Fallout 3, Oblivion, and at this point, looking back on it, Halo 3. EDIT: I guess I really like my commas. "Fallout 3 and Oblivion are my picks too.
Especially Oblivion, just give me more stuff for that so I can get away from that really really horrible main quest line.
Everything else you had to do in the game besides tthat was super fun.
" None, I'm quite pleased with my $60-$70 prince range. "I remember going to Gamestop to buy San Andreas and the guy rang it up as 79 euros..... the beginning of darker days.
You should have just said like "what game would you pay more than 60 dollars for" there are some pretty douche baggy "i wouldn't pay that much for a game" answers here...
Halo 3, that games online was fucking sick and I almost went to the world championships to compete for a million tax free bucks.
I pretty much paid for that amount with the first Rock Band (+DLC).
And I bought a Wii for Monster Hunter Tri which costed me nearly 300 bucks.
And well I bought a PSP for the original Patapon so I paid around 250 bucks.
Yeah, yeah it's also the consoles costs on the latter two but doesn't change the fact that I busted out some serious dough for a single game.
the super limited edition uncharted 2
it comes with the dagger!!

"Giant Bomb has thought me many times about free thinking in my own posts and i'm sure private messages will tell me again. But i agree. Why is it when you ask a question about what you would do people post what the would not. I await my inbox messages.
Come to think of it...
I SPENT THAT MUCH MONEY ON WOW!!!!!!!
Erm... cough, cough... I just realized that.
I'd never spend that much on a game, no matter how many hours of gameplay it offered. Oblivion and Fallout 3 certainly offer far more than average gameplay (and replay) for their value, but ... $150? No. In general, while I do occasionally do the $/hour of gameplay calculation in my head when considering a game, it's not the primary concern for me. A lot of Fallout 3's many hours of gameplay is exploration without any real point. It's fun and immersive, but just not the same as a tightly scripted game. So there is a qualitative difference to the gameplay hours a game offers. It's impossible for me to make a $/hour calculation that makes sense.
For example, I might think 10 hours of a Call of Duty game is worth the $60. Therefore, $6/hour. So Fallout 3 (which I played for at least 150 hours) would clock in at ... $900. But those hours are different. If a developer wants to cram in 150 hours of gameplay, that's fine, but $60-70 is about all I'm willing to pay for any experience. I know people differ on this: that's why there are millions of WoW players out there paying a monthly fee for a game, and why I'm not one of them. So, no $150 games for me. Hell, not even a $100 game.
In terms of value for money relative to other games I have bought, Super Street Fighter 4 has provided me with so many hours of enjoyment that I could see myself dropping that much money on it. That is of course, in this 'what-if' hindsight scenario. You see, I actually decided to answer in the spirit of the question and not pointlessly take it seriously.
i wouldnt even drop $150 on a hooker.
like with games i get my business done then return it or leave it dead it a gutter :/
Well I spent more than that on my fightstick. I would rather spend $150 on a game that I really enjoy and get alot of enjoyment from than buying multiple $60 games that do not keep my interest for very long. Fallout 3, Counter Strike Source, Grand Theft Auto IV and a few other games have gave me the most enjoyment per dollar than any other medium. $70 for fallout 3 and 160 hours+ time spent, Counter Strike Source came with half life 2 and i've spent more than 1000 hours with that game.
That being said, most games I will not spend $150 on.
