Does he have the authority to "shut it down"?
Poll: Should Ryan Shut Down The Nintendownload X-Press?
" @FunExplosions said:I KNOW!, Lava-Wall, I know. Just sayin', the latest one was magnificent. But it's just about run its course." That was the best podcast ever recorded. I say cut it short, while he's ahead. It will be remembered as a hilarious failed schism. I don't see Jeff making more than one more, either way. "He's made two though so.. "
" @Ventilaator said:Same here, though the fact that the Nintendownload X-Press is a thing at all is something you could use to convince people to join the site. XD" So my options are either "No" or "Put them back in the bombcast" Righto, I win either way "Exactly. I'd prefer to hear them in the Bombcast so I can hear Ryan and Vinny laugh at the voices Jeff does. "
Disappointed the poll answers didn't include:
Maybe?
NEVER
NNNNNNNEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Ryan has said that he wanted it out because it adds nothing to the bombcast and is a waste of time to edit it, so how is lose it completely not a realistic possibility?" @Ventilaator said:

I mean... despite my desire to have them re-animate the corpse of Jim Varney and rework it as "Hey Vern, It's the Nintendownload Xpress" it's just not feasible. "
As others have said, how can Ryan de-rail the Nintendownload X-Press?
I though Jeff was the Captain of the U.S.S. GiantBomb? To boldy go where no "review" site has gone before.

NOTHING to the Bombcast? What the shit?
Where would the Bombcast be now if not for, par example, thaucethpawnman or My Farm?
Personally I think it's a silly joke they are taking way too far, but if it's what the kids want give it to them. I just find it funny that they were bitching about the time it takes to do a podcast back when they wanted to charge us to hear the bombcast, and now Jeff is doing one as a joke.
Honestly I think Jeff is going to shut it down. Given how the recent episode turned out, I think Jeff had this planned from the start. None of them want to do the Nintendo release on the Bombcast, but they can't simply drop it. So the Nintendownload X-Press is meant to be the swan song of the segment.
" @crusader8463: They never wanted to charge you to hear the bombcast. "Yes they did. They wanted to keep half of it for subscribers only then make the rest of us wait a week to hear the other half unless we paid them. Essentially forcing people that wanted to listen to the whole thing to pay a monthly fee.
I think it was wrong to get rid of it. That was a stupid decision just because Jeff was out for a week. It was always one of the most entertaining portions of the Bombcast.
Forcing people who want to listen to the whole thing at once to pay monthly, but who really cares about that?
" @crusader8463: ... no no, they wanted to keep half of it back for one week. Forcing people to pay to listen to it all? You got it all in two weeks of it being posted. There was never a point when the Bombcast was ever going to be unavailable in its entirety. Forcing people who want to listen to the whole thing at once to pay monthly, but who really cares about that? "Not going to argue with you about it, there are dozen of threads about it already back when they were trying to do it, so I'm not going to start in on it.
Huh? Neither. Both of those choices imply the concept should stay. And fuck no it shouldn't.
Removing them from the bombcast was a great idea. Making them into a separate podcast is a terrible idea that works against the whole idea of trimming the fat on the production side. It's a total waste of resources.
