I'm thinking it might be fun to share some recommendations based on each other's favourite games.

HOW IT WORKS:

- List your top 3 favourite games of all time

- Recommend a game you think the previous poster would enjoy, based on his/her top 3 favourites.

- If someone recommends a game for you that you've already played, reply to that post, stating what you thought about the recommended game.

I'll get this ball rolling!

1. Shadow of the Colossus

2. Journey

3. Final Fantasy IX

ps: try not to be too obvious with your suggestions: if someone says Half LIfe 2 is their fave game, assume they've probably played episodes 1 and 2, along with HL1. Or in my example, obviously I've played/love ICO, Flower and most FF titles :P

@RainVillain:

Ys: Origins or Ys: The Oath in Felghana. You can get them on Steam for really cheap and they are awesome. They have the JRPG mechanics similar to FF9, great visuals, and incredible combat.

1) Doom

2) Lunar 2: Eternal Blue

3) King's Field 2

1. Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor
2. Grand Theft Auto IV
3. Call of Duty: Black Ops

I'll have a guess, have you played Brothers in Arms?

1) Persona 4

2) Final Fantasy X

3) Mass Effect 2

Kinda obvious I love RPGs.

Post edit:

@Timing: Good call, played the game and loved it. Very old school but definitely worth it.

@Video_Game_King: For some reason Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 comes to mind.

  • Portal 2
  • Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
  • Mass Effect 2

...no I don't know why they're all sequels. Just seemed like the best cross-section of my favourites I could think of.

@devotfeige: Hmmm... you seem to like puzzles, with a good dose of narrative and character development. I was going to say Shadow of the Colossus but I bet you've already played it. How about Jeanne D'Arc instead?

My top three are all over the place.

  • Valkyria Chronicles
  • GTA Vice City
  • Need For Speed High Stakes.

I'm bumpimg this thread because I think it's a cool thread that not a lot of people saw.

@Daiphyer: I'll assume you've already played the other Rockstar open world games like Red Dead Redemption and Bully so why not try Borderlands?
