On the most recent Whiskey Media Radio Show Dave said they were working on new membership content for September. What's your guess/request on what exactly this content is going to be?
Speculation on the new subscriber only content
Personally, I'm guessing it's going to be a plain, gray background with the words "This video is available to paid members only. Grab access now." written on it.
The return of Political Base and Boompa.
ZombiePie and I are going to make this happen one way or another.

"Return" I've never heard of this thing, what is it? :O
Giantbomb will no longer be covering any news or even doing any reviews. Instead it will become the video game equivalent of adult cam sites.
Instead of paying to watch naked chicks undress for you, you will pay to watch one of the crew play through a game of your choosing not unlike the ER.
Each member will of course have limits to what they will play for example, nobody will play Deadly Premonition.

idk but whoever is subscribed to whiskey media probably gets a lot of pussy in real life. Just sayin.

Well they pretty heavily hinted at some sort of user video's so that maybe?...?

That seems like a huge waste of time and money.
I doubt it would be done in the traditional video hosting sense.

Yeah, they did make it sound like it would be different, dave and jeff but dunno? Video comments, users are more able to interact with the website?
I think they mentioned Dave has some pretty radical ideas for a new message board and it's unlike anything we've seen before. I would love a forum refresh, it's lack of organization is one of the reasons I don't post here as often as I'd like. I'd love to have access to Quick Looks recorded live as another poster mentioned. Maybe even a subscriber only Endurance Run if of course the right game ever came along, and it may never. I really have no interest in user created videos. While it would be a neat thing for probably about 5% of all subscribers I don't know if its something that would really catch on and it seems like more headache than it's worth.

I don't mind the Forums. They aren't that dated are they?
EDIT: I just went over to Penny Arcade (I've never seen the Forums) and that looks like shit. All those user generated Signatures and... blech!!! Reminds me of Gamespot.

Political Base and Boompa are two of Whiskey Media's first websites. Boompa was a site about cars and Political Base was a site about, well, politics.
I support this if I can make them dress up in little outfits too.Giantbomb will no longer be covering any news or even doing any reviews. Instead it will become the video game equivalent of adult cam sites.

They wouldn't make a new ER subscriber only. They've said tons of times that they will never take current features and make them subscriber only.

Indeed. I think Whiskey Media has the best forum design on the internet. I fucking HATE having to go to a specific board to post in, whereas here, we have specific forums, or you can just go into the thick of it and see every active topic from the first 50 posts(Or whatever it is). And when posting a thread, you can tag a specific forum to it. It is the most awesome forum I've seen.
Also, no signatures. Good god I am so used to not seeing those bullshit things that I honestly forgot about them until I go to another forum.
Honestly, the forums here are perfect. I would rather them do something else than mess with these. I love them so much I don't know what I'd do if they were changed. I'd probably yell and scream and cry and we don't want any of that. :(

Yes, a website about politics, that's the best idea ever! Politics on forums, why hasn't this been done before? Nothing bad could come from this. Next up, religion!
Well, that's just silly as hell.@Meowshi said:

You can turn the signatures off. Complaining about additional options are silly.
The search function on these forums is garbage. The quote system is garbage. Posting pictures is needlessly time-wasting, and they barely look better than the IMDB boards.
Frankly, to me, these forums don't feel like they are meant to be a main focus of the site or community fostering. They feel more like an afterthought, aesthetically. I see they were going for a streamlined, concise appearance; but it just feels and looks cheap.
As for the PA forums, they looked a lot better before the recent design changes, trust me.

Yes.
Signatures are literally a waste of space. I have no idea why people are so in love with them.

Meowshi did mention that the search feature for the boards aren't great and that they feel like an after thought. I will concede that to him, but I still love them. If the image stuff was smoother it would be better... no?

Agreed on pretty much everything, especially the search function. IT IS fucking atrocious. I usually use Google advanced search.

Maybe, but compared to the other 99.9% of internet message boards, this place looks/feels like virtual heaven.
Members only gravy fountain. Unfortunately you have to pay your own way to San Francisco to take advantage.

This. What do people want? Giant signatures and animated avatars? A million animated emoticons to choose from? I post on a lot of other forums, some gaming related and some not, and there aren't any worthwhile features that I feel like this place is missing. In fact, it does some things better.

It was actually quite civilized and nice. I was more into the Wiki aspect of the site, though.
Vinny's porn website style video previews mentioned on the newest podcast.
But only for subscribers, everyone else has only a still frame old school style!

If this forum gets fucking signatures, animated avatars, or emoticons, I will leave.
That said, embedding images does suck, and the search function is probably about as bad as Wikipedia's.
There is a bunch of stuff they have either hinted at or mentioned directly. I feel like listing all that stuff might be bad, though, as all of it might not be set in stone or will be misinterpreted. Check out Jeff's Formspring, Dave's Twitter, and watch the whole Radio Show.
This year does seem very exciting when it comes to subscriber-only content.

Seems a hell of a lot better than other forums I've seen. The editor is fantastic and the layout is simple, which is a plus.
Other than signatures and moving images (which are both terrible, terrible things for people who read a lot of threads regularly), I don't see what's missing.

Political Base can only return if we also get a website about music and a website about Religion. This way we can have the Shit Storm Trifecta within Whiskey's hallowed halls!
Whiskey Media needs to make one combination politics/music/religion site. And call it Flamezo.com!
Images of Sara nak...
Naw I'm just kidding, I would subscribe even if there was no unique content. Anything they come up with will be rad, I'm sure.
@Meowshi: Jeff and Dave were talking about implementing a new message board on the radio show after last week's Happy Hour. Good news for you I guess, unless it is subscriber only.
Also, sorry to say this, but I love these forums and I think you are wrong on all points other than image embedding. And I guess sometimes when your cursor gets stuck inside a quote box and you want to say something down below it. Other than that, I hope they don't change it too much!
I agree. The layout is second to none. IMO, and there's no way to say this without sounding like a complete fanboy but, other forums could stand to learn a thing or two from Giant Bomb. Almost every other forum in recent memory looks practically the same with some being more needlessly cluttered than others.@Meowshi said:

Also the new subscriber content is obviously Whiskey Media Cage Fight. See your favorite staffers go at it 1 on 1. Bet wiki points on the outcome!

Boompa wasn't a Whiskey Media site though. It was an EnemyKite project which consisted of Ethan and Snide before they got Shelby Bonny to fund their efforts with his mad Cnet monies.
Also for those that want to know on this thread. You are never getting signatures. Ever. Stop asking because they aren't going to be a feature on this or any of the Whiskey Media sites. That and having animated .gifs as avatars. Dave has specifically stated that it's never happening. So stop asking. Please stop the madness.

Man, I really hope this isn't it. I fucking hate GB users, and there terrible video content. I hated QOTW, i don't want to be swamped with strangers attempting to make me laugh.
