is it comming? i kinda liked the first one.
Too Human 2 ?
It was intended to be a trilogy, but the sales performances did not meet expectations. Moreover, the critical reception was very average for the game. As if that weren't enough, Silicon Knights and Epic went through a lawsuit together. I'd be surprised if the franchise continued, but I've gotta say that the core game was pretty fucking sweet and I'd love to see a sequel. I just think they need to decrease the loot drops, make them less random, and offer up a steadier engine without four hour long dungeons.
As everyone has been saying, the story of Too Human was meant to be told in a trilogy. However, after a decade-long development process for the first one, coupled with lukewarm sales and near universal panning by critics, and now the economic setbacks, I'm sure that we won't be seeing a Too Human 2. At least for a while.
I think they set their expectations to high for the game, I mean I still log on from time to time to try for the last 4 achievements I need and facepalm about how much ground work they laid out only to never go anywhere with it. Like there is a DLC menu on the title menu and in EVERY store in the game yet not a single DLC was ever released.
It also would of helped if the game had a coherent story half the time, especially considering the opening cutscene that sets up the story is one of 2 or 3 randomized title cutscenes... Anyway the game didn't do that great even though I had fun with it so I doubt there will ever be a sequel.
LMAO, do you guys realize the saying Too Human 2 is funny because the word "Too" is said the same way as the number "Two" and then "Human" is sandwiched between them and so if it were 2 Human Too it wouldn't make a difference!! It would sound the same!
I hope there's another Too Human game. It had alot of issues but it was a pretty fun game. You can see where they ran out of time on certain things, like the well world or whatever the hell it was called. I would also love to see the four player co-op that was initially promised/implied. The way the classes were set up it just seems obvious that they originally wanted four player co-op.
Hell, at this point, maybe him and John Romero need to get together and make a game. It'd be the greatest game ever...that no one would ever allow to be made correctly!
I agree with you. Dyack and Romero should form a "Our vision always gets screwed by the man" club or something.
As for Romero, I KNOW, RIGHT?! I mean, Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows had the potential to be fucking AWESOME...and then they wouldn't let Romero do what he wanted to do...and they cut him from the project. Like, FUCK WHAT?! However, Romero DID allow Daikatana to come into existence, and even a 30 year dev cycle couldn't have helped THAT game. = /
Hey, let's throw American McGee in there too!!! Man, I'll bet the three of them would come up with the most crazy badass concept EVER!
" I miss Dennis Dyack being a crazy person. Hopefully his shitty trilogy continues if only so I can witness another trainwreck press tour. "agree
I'm one of those asshats that enjoyed the first one despite its shortcomings, and i beat it 3 times. So yeah i hope there will be a second installment.
I hope Silicon Knights next game is a success. Their studio is located in my city which is otherwise a old GM town (which as you know is not a good thing). If they can get back up on their feet it keeps a tech company here and hopefully grows.
To answer your question I agree Too Human 2 could be great. Similar to Assassins Creed 2 they could fix a lot of the problems and make a much better game. If they are not working on this I hope its something exciting.
" We would have heard it something by now. "Not necessarily. For starters, even if they kept the same engine and began work right after they finished the first game, it probably wouldn't be out until Q3 2010. Also, I'm fairly sure that Dyack said on multiple interviews that his next game would be something completely different from Too Human. So it's very possible they're working on something different in between Too Human releases.
