Yeah, so I was roaming my high-school halls today and I noticed this flyer for the "Sturgeon Heights Video Game Club" with the X-Play logo on it. I saw it and thought "Wow, lame." but anyone here think this could be decent? Knowing most of the people in my school it's going to be a "Nintendo Orgy", but hey, ya never know.
Video Game Club =/
I doubt it. The retards at my school decided to let a teacher host a guitar hero club last year. They dont have it again this year cause they realized it makes the school look retarded.
My school has some really weird "Warhammer Club." I have no idea if it is related to the Warhammer franchise, but I wouldn't touch that pot o' geek with a 40 foot pole.
Like I said, give it a look...if it's a bunch of kids talking about Petz Horses, then GTFO of there.
"worth giving it a look if nothing else.I think it's a like a half empty half full mind setting.
Shawn said:"What's the absolute best that can come out of going?true - but what is the worst that could happen?"
A bunch of guys sitting around and playing video games while they pass around the controller every time somebody dies.
Fun :\"
But practically I don't see why I should go and do things that I normally do alone (and enjoy) because if it's only for the social aspect, then no thanks. I don't need a social +1 by going to a video games club when I can play video games and then hang out with friends.

If I were you, then I think I'd at least give it a try. Most of my friends play games, but I'm the only one who goes to sites like this, reads reviews and keeps track of industry news. It's nice talking to people here about that stuff, but I think it would be a lot better in person. If everyone there is like the people you described, then there's really no reason to go back.
"I agree, same thing at my school.Idea of the "Gamers" at My School
1. Dudes who stay in the library all lunch playing their D.S
2. Asian dudes who talk about JRPGs in the caffeteria
3. Hockey players I know who play CoD4
4. Some.....table-top group who meet weekly
This is why I think it'll be lame."
All the real gamers i know (play on XBL n stuff) would never dream of joining a group like that.
"Nintendo Orgy" LOL
Update: Checked it out this morning....it sucked XD.
It was just a clusterfuck of dude's trying to get their opinions about "How Luigi deserves more games" and things of that caliber.
I tried bringing up Fallout 3 and how pumped i was for it and people shot me the "Dude, what're you talking about?" stare.
There was an anime club at my high school. They all wore naruto headbands in their club picture and drew pictures on a sign that said "anime club." I was in the Earth Club, and the teacher who was over that club was also over anime, so they took their picture right before us. As I stood waiting, I heard more discussion about yaoi then I ever wanted to hear, ever.
All of them frightened me.
