Want to be on the new Whiskey Media web site?

Hey duders - 
 

1. If you don't mind us using a picture of yourself in your shirt, please send me a PM with the image attached along with your first name and hometown. 
2. If you've got any fan art, video, music or otherwise slant on what we do please link it below so I make sure I don't miss your stuff.
3. If there's subject matter you'd like to see us cover on the blog, please post your ideas below. I'll prolly be starting out with some tutorials and posts about what I think about UI and community content building, but I also want to answer some of the common questions I get from users such as... how can I get a job in this industry.

1. I'd give you a picture of me in just my shirt if you asked for it.
2. I don't know if I have much "fan" stuff to contribute, but I've been thinking about doing a little game theme music song mix due to me being a wannabe DJ. 
3. I like the idea of the blog, maybe just to hear more of your opinions on the features that are currently in place and to give away hints at what might be coming would be a cool idea.

You should definitely showcase some of the stuff in the Staff Photo-Edit thread, as well as some of Buzz_Clik's shirt designs/images (assuming he's cool with that).

Any chance for someone with the Tested coffee mug to submit a picture or is that a bit too specific?

Looks really good so far, I guess the only thing I've contributed to the site is TNT promo banners along with the others who have done the same.

You can use my picture if you want, sure, I dont care. I use the site on a daily basis (I'm almost always on this site in particular whilest I work all day).
A shirt with a big picture of me sounds weird though, what exactly is the idea behind that? A collage? That makes more sense I guess.
 
I didn't make it but there's a cool Giantbomb tv show like intro thing on youtube that's really cool. I hope whoever made that posts it. It was made awhile ago now but it's really cool imo.
There's also some really funny snippets of the bombcast made into cartoons on youtube that are great as well, whoever made those should post 1 or 2.
 
If needed I can show where these are, I just want to give the makers a chance to do it first.

I wish I had more to contribute, other than my willingness to watch/read/listen to every piece of content the Giantbomb and Tested guys throw out there.

I'm very pleased with this decision to give the community a voice once again, maybe things can be like they were back in 2008.

When a company bolds the word "fucking" on their corporate site; you'll know they're something special.

I love this idea and wouldn't mind writing about community engagement and topics concerning Whiskey Media at large.
 
Specifically I would love to write/shill for how awesome paid membership is in general and other features of the site that you don't get anywhere else on the internet.  Also the subject of community interaction with editorial content by the crew would be an interesting topic.  How does this community as involved and dedicated as it is interplay with the crew's opinions and professional features on game quality.  Someone else could talk about community features like tournaments, the photoedit thread, etc.
 
Sadly I don't have pictures but maybe PAX EAST will change that....  Either way I would love for my picture to be plastered.
 
Also the Bombcast animated segments were the first feature I thought of that should up on the front site and it looks like it's already there.

Can you define fan art?

 Sounds like an interesting idea (the layout looks appealing enough). Having time to do it is half the battle!

I only have stickied threads in general discussion but I doubt that's the kind of content you want. 
 
Also I wish more people knew how to use guides on this site because we could have some amazing group content by now.

I know the main sites have lax restrictions on swear words (in the main articles) but I'm kind of surprised you'd have them in the showcase site. Unless that's just placeholder text.

I agree with the "Guest Users's Blog" idea, but can you also put your own whiskey media-themed fanart in a T-Shirt as well? :)

Is it enough to say that it's okay to use my pic of me in my shirt from the "Show us your shirts!" topic in Off-Topic? Because if so, that's totally okay.

I would say yes if the shirt would ever arrive. I still don't have mine. :-/

I love would to be on the rotation of user blog writers. My idea for some kind of blog post would be how Whiskey Media have such a grassroots down-to-earth feel in a modern world where journalism (and especially blogs) on the internet have become so bloated and redundant. It's nice to have a bit of fresh air when it comes to the myriad of blogs on the web.

Dave does it have to be the Whiskey Media shirt? I have the Giant Bomb logo shirt I won from the Halo 3: ODST contest.  
 
In comparison to some others, I don't really have community content but I captured a clip of Jeff laughing hard during the Bad Company 2 TNT.
 
I have ideas about Wiki formatting (after making extensive edits of Street Fighter characters like Akuma, Ryu, and Makoto) for the blog. I did detailed coverage of video games at last year's San Diego Comic Con on my personal website; I am planning to return as press for my college newspaper and talk more about games planned to be featured.

Either way, you guys do what you need to do.  So long as it kicks ass, I'll check it out.  I enjoy the Whiskey Media site itself, and anything to revamp it and make it snazzier sounds awesome.  I just don't want to miss out on any blogs from the guys behind the scenes, as that blog has been really awesome to check out for business talk and such. 
 
Other than that, I hate the term "power users"...but you guys will do what you guys do.
