What did this generation bring to the table?

To me it'd probably be the new Xbox Live. Sure you could play games online long before the 360 came along, but I think the smooth interface (we've come a long way from the blades system) and various features like Netflix and the marketplace really separate it from past generations for obvious reasons. PSN is worthy of this as well, though I admit it isn't as smooth as the 360's.
